PAUL GEE's PHOTO COLLECTION (Part 1)

Mark R:
Great photo of the Whitehead and Dutton Seddon Atkinson…does anyone remember them?
Also nice to see the Keedwell Daf 2800, one of the few companies who’s livery has remained virtually unchanged for over 40 years.

Thanks for your comments Mark. Does anyone know if Keedwell’s run many DAF 2800’s or was this one
the only one ■■? :unamused:

240 Gardner:

Dieseldog66:
The Lathams Atki, was moved to Coventry Depot and driven by Alf Fletcher, I believe they had another one with a 180 Gardner driven by Brian Evans

I believe the one with the 180 went to Bostock’s of Congleton, and the other had the 240 removed and replaced by a 180 somewhere along the line, together with a flat, and went to Donald Sharples of Darwen. The headboard was set back a couple of feet from the body, as though originally fitted behind the 240.

Thanks for your comments Chris.

Good morning Dean,
While I am not a fan of the American type trucks I dont see any Western Star’s. ( In my opinion they led to the end of ERF ).Dug this one off the internet to see if anyone has some working shots!!! Harvey

Heres an article featuring a Western Star Harvey ! :unamused:

Morning John,
The last time I done a bit of casual for SRCL out of Four Ashes they had just had the Volvo 46 binner rigids but they still had some White Rose blue FM wagon and drags, I think they were 55 plates and could get 4 more bins on than the white 60 plate’s in SRCL livery, as you said those motor’s never go cold as there is always another jockey waiting for the motor when you get back to the yard! Cheer’s Pete

John,
It was all Volvo for the big stuff and Daf LF 55 7.5 tonners, there were a load of the blue Merc Sprinters of White Rose as well, 250K+ miles on them and the weight of that body work I reckon the payload was a bag of sugar! I never went to Bridgend, usually Leeds, Oldham, Bolton and Frome for the trunks, been to Bournemouth but that was for the place I work for now as they had the asbestos stripped out of the building, Cheer’s Pete

Dean when I saw the f10 I though immediately of this photo ,but as you can see it’s not ,picture was found as a negative by paulio at coalite .

Good morning Dean,
Many thanks for the article on irwin Groff, great read.
13 speed Fuller, 18 speed Fuller I wonder why the Yanks have not gone for the “point and shoot boxes” like the UK.
Thanks again. Harvey

St Helens reg., I think - would Richardson’s have bought it secondhand?

I don’t know if that’s Rchardson’s usual livery, but the shade of red is very similar to Tabern’s of St Helens
