I think that’s an AEC Militant Dean, it was a 6x6 military application and a big brother of the famous AEC Matador (4x4) unit. Robert

The Hansons Atkinson Defender has a mud flap on a bar from the chassis fitted between the rear set of wheels, some our Sed Ak 400’s had them but they were a nuisance so got chopped off!

Pete.

Hi dean the Atki is morfa transport from Llanelli loaded with bins from pressed steel fisher going to rovers the sed don my uncle drove the bottom is the yard courtesy of Ron weatherall or who had these cheers John

It looks like the Morfa transport Atki has been retired since the 5th wheel is missing and it appears that one of the run up ramps has been cut off. I wonder did it get across the yard under its own steam or was it towed by the Matador? The unidentified Borderer looks like it is from the same stable as well.

Nice pic of Stamps big J , shame about the chains and headboard ! Dad worked there for a long time don’t think he would have taken one like that . Geoff

The Franke Volvo could be a real TFB 89 with left hand drive and the big hub reduction called NR 2.

Can anyone make out the Reg on Ewins & Sons F88 on page 18, it looks to me like one I owned back in the early 80’s…FBT 219L, but can’t just make it out.

oiltreader:
Thanks for the transporters Dean  remember reading somewhere that Progressive Group initial order with AEC ergos was for 72 units, Mercury and Mandator.
Oily

Hello Oily, the Progressive transporter, looks like Johnny Pratts motor from Coventry, he blinged it up a lot more, but it never looked the same after James Car delivery took them over and painted it Orange.

Must admit i never noticed that ,the old Atki must have been at the end of her life ? Maybe they were
going to break it for spares ■■ Thanks for input “cav551”
