PAUL GEE's PHOTO COLLECTION (Part 1)

Hi Dean,
Even more brilliant images yet again. The Entress 86’s were loading channel island tomatoes from Weymouth,a regular job for that firm back then.ive noticed more classic welsh images, can i share them onto the South Wales thread please? Oh and once again, your outstanding thread has taught me something new again,I never realised chapman and ball did bulk work,I had heard of the firm many times previously as I am fanatical about Middle East trucking in the 70’s.
Regards andrew.

Some adverts.

Now then Deano, how you can place these two adverts for suspension together is unforgivable :open_mouth:  The UOP Bostrom was the “The dogs danglers” in the 70’s and the Poxy Chapman was the ■■■■■■■ pits :frowning: Both Atki’s and ERF fit the Chapman seat as OE because of the price no doubt. But I replaced all the Chapmans with Bostrom seats. The Chapmans in the Atkis were absolutely ■■■■■■■ diabolical  Because they were set up higher than the ERf’s they “rocked and rolled” about ■■■■■■■ terrible ! However, there lies a tale and involves one of our “A” series circa '76. This unit was put on to double shift nights to Daventry and back then days to Lancs/Cheshire/W. ■■■■■■■■ Now the night driver was a hefty Lad ( Still lives in Kendal long retired) probably about 17/18 stone but not a fat ■■■■■■■ by any means ! So this Chapman seat was “Flattened” Kaput, knackered, finito ! So I returned the motor to Middlewich after arguing the “toss” with them on the phone about this seat. So the "powers that be " came out to have a look and they couldn’t believe that in 6 months from new this seat was ■■■■■■ out of sight ! They claimed that the Chapman seat was tested to destruction with something like 25 stone lumps on it “Bollox” I says ! So they said "we’ll fit you a new Chapman seat ! I says " No ■■■■■■■ chance ! I want a new Bostrom seat or I’m going to see Peter Foden ! Finally, a fitter came out with a brand new Bostrom and it was even in that nice green ERF materiel and not in black like the Atki Bostroms ! End of problem, the seat gave perfect service for many years ! Happy Days as a Struggling Haulier ! Bewick.

What I like about this collection of pics is its randomness, no particular Model/Make/ Load type etc has been favoured, they are just pics from British Road Transport with something for everyone  Chris
