Past Present and in Between in Pictures (Part 2)

Well at least I’ve finally found there is something I can do that you most probably can’t CF Sheeting and roping ! :fu:

Saying it as it is Buzzer.

Can you imagine the crying and moaning? Not from you Dennis, you’d be like me, creaking and groaning.

@ Bewick Add to that talk a bit of sense run a successful business

Mr (?) Carryfast can do anything and everything AND…he’s an expert. He teaches us mere lorry drivers (retired) all sorts of things and we are…‘indebted’. V12 Jaguars, Detroit 2 strokes, etc, etc. nothing is too much trouble for him. He is the fount of all knowledge and we are lucky to be benefiting from his vast reservoir of expertise .
I don;t know how some of the aforementioned mere lorry drivers (retired) managed for the best part of 50 years without his expert guidance and tuition. A miracle.

I hope that’s OK Mr Carryfast
To all members, please excuse my strange sense of humour.

HaHaHaHaHa. Brilliant :joy: :joy:

Ah can I put forward a second candidate in the name of “Spardo” to challenge Mr CF, this man is multi experienced in so many spheres having had more jobs than even he can remember himself, in my day we called it a “rolling stone” does not matter what the subject he is a better referral system than Google and that is a compliment  :+1: :open_mouth:

Aye! We don’t spend ten pages in head-banging argument with Spardo, we just have to nod and say, ‘Yes, I recognise that truth!’

I think the truth is Spardo put himself about(ooh err vicar) whereas Carryfast didn’t, couldn’t, wouldn’t!

I think Spardo lied on his resume. He said he could drive a twin stick. Fortunately he blagged it.
Carryfast would still be trying to find the splitter on a 15 speed. :joy:

Look Lads CF is in secure accommodation ,sorry social care, in Leatherhead and Matron only allows him limited access to the @tinter net but you have to give it to him he puts the access he does have to the www. produces the most weird and wonderful responses to other TNUK members quite informative Posts ! Bewick :innocent:

Last week I got the impression he’d been at the Ad-blu. This week I reckon he’s on Easy-start. Someone should tell matron really.

One thing can be said he gets involved
He’s keeping a few very busy

I might be tempted to rope it for few extra bob in overtime so long as you sheet it.

I wonder what that would be worth now , probably more than when it was new.

I bought a pair of F88’s in August '75 451/452 at IIRC £ 14 k each I bought another one in Jan '77 which set me back £15k. Inflation was rampant at that time ! I also bought a SED/ATK 8LXB sleeper in the January and again it cost £15k same as the F88. The three F88’s were liveried as K. Fell cream and green and then around 1982 the K Fell fleet was absorbed into BTS and repainted red & White as per the shot.

Typo ! The two F88’s were bought in August 1976 NOT 1975 !

Like i said they would be worth much more than that now.How did they compare to the Seddon Atkinsons? The F10 would have been ready for launch in 1977 was there a big price difference to the F88. I remember East Riding Sacks who ran F88s getting a F10 and it caused quite a stir .I was with my dad at Trinity Paper Mills Holcombe when it came through the gate. It was light years away to his 10 year old Mandator. Glad you’re posting again Dennis

Occasionally ramone only very occasionally

In 1976 you would still have been running Atkis A series ERFs Seddons etc .The new Seddon Atkis and B Series ERFs would have been worlds apart from the aforementioned but the new Scanias and Volvos must have caused a bit of a stir up in Cumbria Dennis.
