So did I, but sadly I forgot that the basket carrier is fixed to the frame not the handlebars and thus does not turn the front wheel. In a moment of madness I leaned forward to grasp the carrier and, unable to steer for balance fell heavily onto the road and in doing so, scattered steaks all over it.
I spent quite a lot of time picking gravel out of the meat. No complaints were received.
Yep, scrubbed up for any photo was de rigeur in those days. It was probably a Sunday too, which would explain the clean lorry. Or he may just be the owner who has just taken proud delivery. Another, less likely possibility, is that he normally drove a Landau or a Hansome Cab and was grading up to the then-equivalent of Class 1. Perhaps the lorry was parked up and the chap just photo-bombed it on his way to the Fox & Goose.
Nice cover pic, but the video is absolutely littered with glaring inaccuracies and I lost count of the mismatched pictures to script. The C, CP, E and EC were all one model according to the opening footage. Hopeless!
