I had one of those, probably bought for a fiver, most of mine were in those days, but first day out with my mate Pete in the passenger seat we couldn’t work out what was causing the infernal rattling noise.
Narrowed down to the front left wheel and removed the hubcap…to find all but 2 of the wheel nuts completely unattached.
Soon sorted.

Deffo a range change, dont think it was an Eaton Fuller, in fact it may have been a syncro box…possibly their own box.
Well nearly! The Seddon is the Mk3 cab which is basically the same as the Guy Big-J cab. It is narrower than the Mk4 cab enjoyed by the FTF. The ERF European had the tall version of the Mk4 cab, as did the Scammell Crusader and the French Mack.

It’s only now you’ve mentioned it but that ERF is so like a Scammell. Were Motor Panels an independent company or part of a bigger group?
