An Handyman my Dad drove regularly at his time at Midlands Storage
What year was that, Gazsa, bit before my time I reckon. Don’t remember a Scammell but I do think Fodens featured. Pretty much all Atkis and KMs when I was there.
What would the colour be, doesn’t look like the cream of my day?
And Buzzer, you’ve got a couple of raritys in that lineup, or is it the same one in 2 pics. A Rowe Hillmaster.

Fixed the pic above yours. Some pics just have to be reduced before posting. You can do this easily by opening the pic in ‘paint’ and reducing the size there. Or you can paste it onto a Word doc. and do the same. Cheers, Robert
Hi Robert and Oily,
I recommend paint.net for working with images. It’s free (just be careful and avoid the downloads which look as though they are for the programme but are actually for something else!) and is intuitive and much more useful. I have downloaded paid for programmes but always go back to paint.net!
By the way. Always enjoy posts from both of you. Keep up the good work!
Well I bought this tipper from Malcom Harrisons at his Barlaston depot, It served us very well on local and long distance work, Not the best puller on the hills but like I said it did us very well, It was owned by a firm from Cheadle by the name of Ivan Scragg who had it from new, The good old days when one could earn a few bob , , Regards Larry.

I think that Scraggs still have a garage in Cheadle Larry. One of the ex Tilcon drivers drove a Volvo F7 for them but had a bad smash in it, near Blythe Bridge on the A50 I think?

No worries Gary, I am not familiar with Iphones, did a google and you can get a image re-sizer from the Iphone AppStore. It’s not so much the actual pic size but the large border area that required cropping back. On my phone I use Google Photos which allows cropping, enhancing etc. etc. also synced to PC, also unlimited free cloud back up.
Cheers
Oily
The first Ergo cabbed AEC I saw was a short wheelbase brand new Green tipper similar to the one above when on a trip with my Father. I thought it looked great and I’ve always remembered it little knowing when I left school I would be working on the Ergo cabbed and previous cabbed types at a local AEC Dealership as an apprentice, still have a soft spot for the Ergo’s. Franky.
Yep, I reckon (as I’ve said before a few hundred times) they were one of the most comfy motors I’ve driven. They certainly were “ergonomic” with everything in reach, good visibility and had a good turn of speed at well over 70.
ramone:
A Leyland RAF my grandad drove and my dad mated on , what was the difference between the RAF and the Beaver anyone ? Hope it`s ok to post on here Oily
Nice one ramone , hadn’t heard of a Leyland RAF, so did a bit o digging and there were over 5500 produced by Leyland during WW1, after the war Leyland bought back surplus, reconditioned them and sold them back into civvy life. They were shod with solid rubber, your grandad’s is on pneumatics, so probably a later model.
