Yesterday in Dingwall, had a then and now chat with the driver, a nice young lad took me through a few of the mod cons of today’s wagon like his “notes”, a gps gadget unclipped from the dash with drops, pick ups etc on the screen, a far cry from yesteryear.

As with all those newer models, just put some proper livery on it, and the ugliness will disappear…

Hi Malc, thanks for the pics
, saw that machine on the way home from the Hebrides, unfortunately in a “convoy” of traffic so missed a chance of stopping for a snap, we were two or three motors behind a motorhome(NL) snail with a long tail back behind us, umpteen chances to pull in at a passing place to let others go by between Achmore and Strathcarron station
waited until the A896 jct then he pulled in, bah bloody humbug
.
Oily
I parked behind that machine on Wednesday while the ladies walked across the road for the obligatory photos of Loch Carron . Couldn’t get them to get a snap of " That rusty old thing " , typical women . Dave

Because we were drivers, we knew how to do the job with 250/290/350 bhp and a Fuller. And before that a 150/180 Gardner and a six speed DB box
Happy days.
These days they sit there with 650/750, auto boxes etc, That’s not driving, that’s just being bored witless at 56mph.

The Dock Road, near the Pier Head,Liverpool, in 1955. Three Car electric train of the
Liverpool Overhead Railway, Heading south to Dingle terminus. Despite the name “Overhead”,
Dingle Station was “Underground”, at the bottom end of Park Road. The 2 “Team Horses” and
cart could have been part of Jarvis Robinson Transport. Difficult to identify the lorries, but
the far one may be a Ford Thames,or even a bonneted Bedford. My thanks to Dave/xkopite,
Trucknet member, for the picture. Ray Smyth.
