Nice one Lawrence memories , 1955 and first go in a left hand drive car Citroen Light 15, the gear change sticking out of a hole in the dash, front wheel drive, wide track and a wheel on each corner, wobble free on corners, odd but ahead of its time.

There’s something about those Citroen Avant traction ,reminds me of Magrait then Mrs Magrait, then Lucy Cohu who plays her in the TV series. Dammit, I, m sweating again!
In this photo from “Dave/xkopite”, taken in 1964, the Liverpool Corporation Leyland PD2 Bus is heading
up Manchester Street, on its way to the Pier Head terminus, right on the waterfront. Behind the Bobby
on Point Duty is a queue for the Mersey Tunnel, just off the photo,on the right. Leading the queue is a
green Commer, behind it is what could be a dark blue BMC FG, not sure. Next lorry looks like a LAD
cabbed Albion, followed by a Leyland Comet, then a Ford Thames Trader. Already at the Toll Booth is
what looks like a “Palethorpes Sausage” van, a very smart Wolseley 6/110, and a red Mini.

Saw this South of Perth WA earlier this year
All these from a motor museum in Blenheim NZ. Taken earlier this year
Tyneside
Hi Tyneside, Some interesting photos from the 50s/ 60s, I particularly like the photo of Blue House Lane Garage.
With regard to the “Regular” petrol at 4 shillings and threepence a gallon, your mathematical conversion to
todays Metric money is spot on. The little items to the left of the pumps look like one of them is for a shot
of Redex, upper cylinder lubricant,at 1 penny a shot, and the other could be oil for for “Two Stroke” engines
in BSA Bantams , Francis Barnetts, and many other motor cycles, autocycles, and mopeds. The Diesel pump
at the rear looks a bit lonely. Kind Regards, Ray Smyth.
Here’s one of my old trucks from when i was an OD in Norway,we loaded fish south and clean empty fish boxes back,it was the golden days of long distance trucking in Norway,we all made some good money, but alas times changed, what with very cheap Eastern block companys doing the same work as us but for half the price,

650 HP■■? How did we manage back in the day!!Because we were drivers, we knew how to do the job with 250/290/350 bhp and a Fuller. And before that a 150/180 Gardner and a six speed DB box
Happy days. These days they sit there with 650/750, auto boxes etc,
That’s not driving, that’s just being bored witless at 56mph.

Few more from Washington, early sixties. The Blue House Lane garage was right opposite the F pit. Used to go past it everyday on the way to school.
Thanks to Buzzer, Ray Smyth, tyneside, DEANB and Chris62, great variety

Thankyou for time and effort.
A couple of shots for today on the agricultural front as we are about to see a lot of these on the road in the next few months as harvest kicks in, more big bales today than small and they can get the weight on, Buzzer.
