Oiltreader. Thank you for the Tayside photo’s and link to Dundee companies.
D&D was one I had forgotten. There was a lot of flatbeds around at that time 1980/81. Used to pass P.S . Ridgeways on the way to work, and hardly a day went by when you didn’t see Thomson Press then mostly 4 wheel ERFs heading out or returning home. Harry Lawson’s tankers were regulars on Dock Street and the Kingsway.
Great memories if the City and its people.
Regards Paul

Hi Eddie, thanks for the info ,nice to get the details as well ,saves guessing what, how, where and why etc
I remember seeing Kingston Minerals about in Oxfordshire, I think they originated from Berkshire somewhere, somebody put me right.

Hi Oily, & Lurpack mentioning your comment re a tag axle motorhome, just the same as most trailing axle six wheelers hopeless on soft ground or trying to reverse up a slope or over a kerb.
Cheers, Leyland 600.

Looks like their head office is in Bath Oily, but I remember seeing them all over the place.
Jameson’s Guy loading oil dispersal chemicals at Dasic near Romsey, Hants bound for Cornwall when the Torre Canyon fell apart on the rocks so some one will know what year that was, all driving regulations were waived for trucks on this job, Buzzer.
Scania lb81 wagon and drag a firm I did 11 years for until they closed In 1997 money wasn’t great but they were good times , and an 05 plate fh wrecker what dragged me into Newton Abbot yesterday after my turbo failed real beast of a motor

Quite a few photos on the net Ivor, all over the country, anywhere where there was sand, gravel or rock it would appear, swallowed up by Hanson who had an HQ at Maidenhead.
Eddie
I believe that Kingston Minerals had a quarry or pit near Tean, Staffs, in the eighties?
Pete.
That’s the one and only artic from Dumfries , all the rest of our motors run from Haslingden
