Oiltreader, great photo of both bridges there. Always found the rail bridge a little scary whilst crossing.
Do you have any photo’s of the Tay Bridge or any Dundee based motors past or present.
Regards Paul.
Hi Paul, I don’t think I’ve got any Dundee wagon photos, I’ll have a look at those who share under Creative Commons licence. backsplice would be your man with Dundee photos, being in OZ he is most likely doing zzzzzzs at the moment.
Quite a collection here public.fotki.com/Scottishtruckp … rt_dundee/

Today in Dingwall, I’m guessing bridge maintenance, side hooks red casing with wheels anyway looked a fair weight for a 2 axle FL, really good nick at 13 years old. It must go out quite a bit, comes with a bike strapped on

Hi Paul John, a couple to be getting on with from the collection of my late friend Ronnie Cameron, Newtyle a wee bit outside Dundee but still in Angus.

Hi Oily, I am gla you enjoyed the Forest of Dean Rally at the Speech House, I visited it about 3 years ago and photographed some of the vehicles that you have particulary the Febry’s Beaver. A great day out, we were staying near Symonds Yat.

Redbank brings back a few memories.Good fair firm to deal with. When I sold some motors I think a Mr Hoyle was in charge.A chap called George Morton in the garage ( I think I’m right) I quoted for 6 D1614s and Paynes of Hinkley did and as the quotations were the the same they split the deal. That wouldn’t happen today and not very often then.Paynes, now the late Derek Farren there who was one of the old school and a good bloke.Saw him a lot and at the commercial show but I don’t think he had time to look at many motors apart from a “stand” on the surrounding parts of the show.
Coming back to Redbank they ran a lot of D800’s and kept them going for a quite while, but we were involved in them buying a new crane and drag on one of these and the crane had all the “posh” things like the unloading and loading with the driver’s remote control.
Not cost efective I reckon but who was I to argue.
