Still got a key for one of those

Me to…somewhere! I think that they also fitted RAC boxes as well? I also have some pics I took at the Anson Museum of a Jag with a 4LK in but I think it is a different car to that one.

Pete.

Hi Windrush, This Jag was owned by The Gardner family & was used when the went abroad, It returned 30mpg as apposed to 12mpg with the petrol engine in, Regards Larry.

Thanks to Buzzer, coca cola kid and Lawrence Dunbar for the pics

I well remember the AA patrolman on a machine like this, also a Norris, Henty and Gardner advert for the 4LK engine from 1938.

0Heres a one for C/F, A Jaguar with a Gardner 4 LK Fitted by Gardners at Paticroft, Regards Larry.

No pictures I’m afraid but in 1960 at Fred Chappells, Batley we had a fitter who had bought an ex Royal Family Daimler and fitted it with a 4 cylinder Gardner.I don’t know how the hell he managed it but it still had the pre select gearbox.
Huge old thing it was.

Found my pics, it is a different Jag to the one that Larry posted. I know that Gardner fitted the only 6LK made into their Invicta sports car.

Pete.
