Well Oily you inspired me. I have applied and have a day in the middle of next month. Suspect that the examiner is, again, a Policeman.
One difference though; this guy does not have any idea about candidates planning their own routes and is very clear that he will provide the route. Makes no odds to me I suppose but it seems a bit different to the one you did.
I will keep you posted!

Good on you David,
My assessment started with the obligatory eye test, (number plate at 20 metres). Having read on the website the assessment would be on a route of the drivers choice, I had already decided my plan and though my assessor suggested a run through my local town streets, I stuck with it, trip to Inverness and city streets (more challenging).
A couple of tips, one which I was advised on during debrief was pulling up at a red light or any stationary traffic, out of gear, handbrake on( another 2 instead of a 1 ). The other I paid attention to on the day(I donât normally) halt line at junctions, stop even if there is no traffic, instinct is to keep rolling. Important for the mindset, it is NOT a test, you cannot fail, relax and enjoy.
Good Luck

It sure is GOM, not as nice as the older ones IMO, I have one in the Garage somewhere, I have to hide such treasures as my Wife throws them out the first chance she gets the sad old bugger Eh, Regards Larry.
I think that those rectangular badges came out with the LXC range, I have a lapel badge from that time. The begining of the end for Gardnerâs in my opinion alas as they had a few âissuesâ when in service that should really have been sorted at the works.
Pete.

Pal of mineâs dad had a Mk IX with a P4 he codged in it. Coupled to itâs auto box it was not a good conversion! He wrote to Browns Lane for advice and the reply was not encouraging. Jim.

Me toâŚsomewhere! I think that they also fitted RAC boxes as well? I also have some pics I took at the Anson Museum of a Jag with a 4LK in but I think it is a different car to that one.
