I started to read Carryfast & fell asleep
Three army vehicles and a civilian Faun ALE(on contract in Iraq) which are in the public domain as is quite a lot of stuff taken by US military personnel. The CCC badge as I understand it stands for Crane Carrier Company.

Some recoverable, some past it. Pics on offer for sharing under CCL terms. The AEC snowplough is identical to the ones used by our local county council when I was a teenager, even to the hut on the back where the roadmen would sit huddled waiting for the call to start spreading grit from the pile always carried for ballast and use.

Fodens and sadly what remains of the Sandbach site. Again all pics shared by their owners under CCL terms

Looking at what remains of the Foden works i remember reading many years ago that when Foden were having financial difficulties 1 of the reasons was that they had invested in 1 of the most modern assembly plants (at the time) it seems ironic that it was raised to the ground just like British lorry manufacturing
Yes it was a sad day for the British hauliers that were Foden operators, Take the Peak District for instance Fodens everwhere, ideal for that part of the country, I myself had Fodens on tipper work & boy did they perform, my fave
Hello again oily, I for another enjoy your pics and posts, Anyone taking the time to look at them and read the posts will realise there is a lot of history and nostalgia being revived here, So just ignore the โFlackโ and keep them coming mate cheers Bill
Going back to the 60s one of my โdigsโ stops was at the Iron Grey pub on Middlewich Rd. Sandbach, right opposite the Foden works, mine host was a chap called ? Stallard, good digs they were and parking in the Market Square.
Some more Fodens.

^ +1 Enjoy looking at these. If it werenโt for you,I would have never seen them.
Ta for the kind words, a wee bit of a diversion but it was on the back of a lorry at some time, looking at the wheels, it could be a BMW underneath. Of course that could be a load of rubbish
