One for RO not your first choice I’m sure
But beautifully dressed! I’d still happily long-haul in one of those, as long it was the pre-Cursor model with the Eaton Twin-Splitter in it !

I’d probably go for that old Turbostar. It’s got a 480 and probably a 13-sp Fuller
A couple of EU fridge artics delivering fruit & vegetables from Spain to
Florette fruit packaging factory at Wigan today. The green Scania is from
Italy, but the driver spoke no English, The white Volvo is from Spain and
I had a chat with the Romanian driver, he spoke better English than me.
The Volvo had two ladies names on the headboard…Lucia & Irene.
Perhaps they are the names of his daughters, he may be an owner driver.
The name on the trailer looked like J.&.R. Caiares.
Ray.

He certainly turns up some quality,
On the subject of drivers, companies, trailers and tractors following the European ideal, the one that forced me off the road in the mountains a few years ago was a real mixture, Romanian driver with a Slovakian unit pulling an Italian trailer. Good outcome though nevertheless. The driver, who hadn’t actually collided with me, stayed for 2 hours making sure I was ok and helping the breakdown man in pulling me back on the road, and the Italian company paid every penny of the € 2,000 of damage.
Star down under.:
0Thanks for making the effort, Dig, it was an honour and pleasure to meet you.
Likewise SDU have a safe trip back.
