Parking thurrock

Sorry to be a pain but u answered my question on 7 day working brilliantly so here’s another problem I have. I’ve got a 5am tip Monday on Dolphin way Thurrock so I need somewhere to park up around the area on Sunday night guessing the services will be full of flip flops

all depends on which way you are going to thurrock,J26 truck stop maybe?

Doubt the services will be full, but Thurrock ain’t cheap to park. Was something like £29 with food last time I used it. Parked up at Birchanger last week and they’ve put their prices up to £29 with food.

Try Titan Truck Stop Thurrock Stoneness Road.max. 10 minutes to Dolphin way…

with Titan always good to book in might or might not be busy but as said is good for Dolphin Way,bit of a dump though IMHO!

Purfleet Truck Stop via Snap…must book in though, super safe @ £21.50

Also on site Keyfuels and Ad_Blue and truck wash with Snap.

Go to worlds end pub near Tilbury Docks. Free parking, good grub they even write you a ticket out for parking if you want one. Should be able to get on Sunday night.

Where one of our outbases is at Lakeside is there there are plenty of drivers who park up here on a night on Central Avenue.

google.co.uk/maps/@51.48291 … 016,17.83z

If you zoom out a little bit you’ll find that there is a Franky & Bennies, a KFC, a McDonalds and a Burger King all within 2 minutes walk.

Basically you go past the entrance to the services, turn left at the next roundabout, right at the next, down the short hill then right at the next roundabout then left at the one after that and turn left after Matalan on your left.

Ain’t Thurrock and the surrounding area bad for getting tickets even if the roads don’t have double yellows?

Whether I was getting re.imbursed or not I would not frequent any of those msa ■■■■ holes on principle. :smiling_imp:

Yeh Worlds end is spot on, but parking spaces are a bit limited, but Sundays should be ok.
When I was using Purfleet I used to park the unit round the back of the ‘Chinese pub’ (can’t remember name) landlord was ok about it as long as you were willing to spend money in his pub and takeaway, which we did (Christ did we  ) had some bloody good nights in there, we used to play killer pool, I’ve seen 100quid prize accumulate on that table.
Now because of the anti truck arse holes there, we are all supposed to disappear and park in a ■■■■ lay by…yeh like hell. :smiling_imp:

I think pub owners would prefer a few truck drivers in their pub spending money than some of the riff raff they tend to get in. I bet in the old days a few drivers in the pub would act like free security for the landlord and if anything kicked off or someone rowdy started they were soon put in their place.

An old style driver mate of mine from Carlisle who is now long gone, used to tell me he had a regular barman job in London in the 70s (he done same run every week)
He would have the tacho nazis on his arse today for breaking wtd regs or similar bull ■■■■. :unamused:

I’m with Godroy and Steve. Personally, I would get to Worlds End for a five o’clock finish, couple of pints, meal and £15 receipt.
No way would I park on Thurrock services for £29. Titan truckstop should be called S### un with all the tankers in and out all night. And parking on Central Avenue, why?

Try not to but sometimes have no choice. Operation Stack issues … forced me into Thurrock. As for Birchanger it’s either that or Cambridge Extra with no food voucher.

Why Cambridge Extra, what’s wrong with Bar Hill ind est, Tesco nearby and a pub that does good meals. :bulb:
Or the ind est on the other side, although last time I went past the pub beside it that I have used in the past, it was unnoccupied.

So where did the OP spend his Sunday night?
