Here’s a pic to cure your tilt-weariness, Jeff! Robert0
Good pic that Robert.
Heres a question…on the front of the tilt is a Union Jack flag with “UK” below it in one corner and another flag with some writing underneath it on the other corner. Can anyone make out what that other flag is or what the country name written underneath it is??
The letters look like ‘PL’, which is Poland. Robert
Sir +:
Whoosh!
I know exactly what you mean, ‘Sir’; but we have to remember that in those days Poland was still an exotic destination for truckers. The state hauliers, Pekaes of Poland and Csad of Czechoslovakia still represented very interesting foreign long-haul visitors through Dover. It wouldn’t be ■■■■ to have Warsaw written on the side of your truck today but 30 years ago it would have been! Robert
When I was a kid there was a guy called Donny Blair that used to park his truck up for the weekend in your yard, a Daf 3300 with a fridge, Scotland Poland was the game with intervention beef. To my that was almost as good as the M/E as sometimes he used to go in the USSR to reload. Try as I might I couldn’t find a Russian map that actually had road’s on in so it was a big intriguing mystery to me that warranted a lot of farther investigation.
Here’s a smaller version of what I remember it to look like.
He must have got a bit bit fed up with all that Polish rain because here he is sitting next the Chris Hoopers Transcontinental.
Jeff…
Very detailed and realistic jelliot your very talented how do you do the weathering
I use my airbrush Irish lorries. I’ve had a bit of practice though.
I went back onto Euro-Wheels this morning and it was a completely different format, I found the F 16 next to a blue 113…
The red Maassallah truck with the white and blue Trans Asya tilt looks a right beast. I wouldn’t like to get stuck behind that going up a long Turkish hill.
As for those Fargos with the loads of round wood, the one at the back must have the best part of 22 tone on it. I bet it only had brakes on 2 axles as well…
Jeff…
Did you ever make a model of that f16
No… it cost me to much in diesel when I owned it, it was always a bit of a lemon, not my favourite truck…
This is my all time favourite truck …
and this a my second favourite…
580 bhp, road ranger box, ■■? mtr long trailer
Jeff…
Nice choices that volvo is beautiful
Thanks’ I L it was the second truck I owned, mainly round Britian with it but did a few to France, Italy, Spain and Tunisia with it as well… Big millage and not much trouble which is why I went for the F16. I had some mates that ran a couple of F16’s as well and they were great… Luck of the draw…
Jeff

Spoilt for choice now!!! Murfitts Murfitts, Murfitts Curries Curries Murfitts, Hungry camion, next to another Hungry camion. Nobbies Magnum, and dood with a CTR rent a tilt. Pan Express and Pan Express waiting to get a passport control. Bruce Meek in the Merc light behind the Pan Express Scania( Brother of A and NA Meek the black F16 )…
That grey and yellow MAN in the first photo looks like it’s Spanish.
Stateline came in on a late boat and had to invent his own parking space, ( been there done that ) and there looks like a few Eurotrotters farther back in the same photo.
Jeff…
That red lorry with the roof extension is an F12 and it was owned by living in a box Eddie.
I’ve nicked that pic Robert and posted it on a Facebook group, someone was asking about him the other day. I credited the pic to you BTW

No problem, all my own pictures are on here for anyone to use. I’ve just spotted a black unit with a very travel-stained RJ tilt in the bottom picture; probably just back from Turkey. Robert
