Our Royal mail

Ordered me a Mac and expecting delivery that days.
now well.
Today a Van of Royal mail stopped in Front of our House, sticking a Leaflet in the Postbox that a Parcel is for collection which is too big to be delivered by Postman.
So,why not the postman didnt bring that card, and, why the Hell couldnt the Van not bring that parcel?
Also, why they dont ring the Bell or knock on the Door?

I kid you not the exact same thing happened to me today a collection card on the floor but ive been in all morning and the door hasn’t went once. I bet the buggers didnt even bring the parcel must be a new thing they are doing to save money :unamused:

If it’s too big for delivery then why the hell did the Royal Mail accept the job? Call the number on the card and tell them you want it delivering! Lazy arse [ZB]s

And it wasn’t even a big Mac eh?

Strange, when I have a delivery from Royal Mail, if it’s too big for the postie to carry around with him , then it is delivered by another postie in a van. Only get a card if I am out.

Royal mail doesnt delivery Parcel by Van

I had a delivery from DHL. I have gated double drive way and both sets of gates were padlocked. Next to the gates I have a single gate which people use to walk through, the DHL driver couldn’t figure out how to get through the locks gates so instead of using his loaf and opening the small gate he wrote a card out saying “UNABLE TO GAIN ACCESS” and threw it into the front of the house over the gates and left it blowing around on the floor. After a rant on the phone by me next day same thing, only as he was about to walk away after throwing another card over the gates I GOT him, he looked at me and said , " couldn’t figure out how to get in" I looked to the right and gently opened the small gate, he handed me my parcel and foxtrot oscard sharpish…Fing knob!

I have a bell push on the door frame but sadly many of these people have not attended the course on how to use it.

Don’t know if you knew this but there is a small village near Clitheroe were the government breed these people in labs, they are kept there until they reach a size were they are shipped by post to various courier companies. They are then put into uniforms given a driving licence, (no test needed ), a sat nav and butty box. Placed in vans and despatched across the country delivering all our parcels. The ones that don’t make the grade are simply sent back to Clitheroe re-programmed and given another chance. If they still don’t make the grade they are simply re-cycled into cardboard boxe  s.

Most deliveries get to me. If I’m out, they all know that the local school will accept parcels on my behalf (wife works there).

Except that eejit last week. Wife was expecting two parcels, she got home and asked if they had been delivered “no” says I. On the phone and apparently they tried to deliver at 1033 and a card had been left. By this time I had got the phone as I wanted an explanation as to why he hadnt delivered as I was in my office (have to pass the office to get to the house) until 12 that day. I started laying down the fact that the driver was lying and, due to us being in the middle of nowhere, he thought he would save some time and miss our delivery.

This company has trackers fitted so I told them to have a look and see where he was between 1030 and 1045. Guess what, he werent near me

[zb]s think they can get away with it.

Check out the card! It has a premium rate number to call - ££££££££££££ There is your answer.

You’ll miss it when it’s gone! Did any of the privatised utilies/banks etc., become more efficient or cheaper when themoney men got their sticky city mitts on them?

I think that the only benefit most people got from all the privatisations was that telephone calls beacame cheaper.

Yes they do. If the postie can’t deliver a parcel or package, a recorded or registered item then a P739 card is put through your door. I used to do mail deliveries in the 90s, using a bike, a van and shank’s pony.
Parcels and Packages that wouldn’t go in the mail bags, went in the van.

ParcelForce, who I think you might be confusing Royal Mail with, are seperate businesses and use a different card.

Maybe i’m missing something in the translation here. How do you know this? Did you see him and say nothing? The leaflet usually means its to big to go through your letter box (thats delivered by your postman), so as there is no answer you can collect it.
I’m always pretty defensive over Royal Mail, not that i particularly like the Royals , i don’t. Moreso because its a British Institution that works, and works very well. As far as i can remember its provided an excellent service and provides great real jobs with conditions we can envy. Unfortunatley its been on the recieving end of big business aqusitions and ideas and been subject to ‘we want a piece of that’ and has been steadily run down over recent years, with the likes of DHL getting a bite at the apple, even though it still seems to be holding its own. Luckily the idea of DHL getting to freelance totally in the market never came to fruition otherwise Royal Mail may well have performed like the parcvel arm they have just got rid off…Yodel !!! Thats an acronym for go sing for it !!!

Glad to see your missus gets it right and orders your lager in, saves you having to go to the bar and do it

Get this alot lazy gits, just put a card through the door because they can’t be arsed to carry it or stand more than 10 seconds while someone answers the door, then when you go to pick it up from the delivery office you stand there like a lemon for ages only to be told they can’t find it :imp:. City link and UPS deliveries are as bad round us,

Have you ever done a posties round before? i have and sod having to carry a big package around for somebody who may not be in and will just get in the way if that person isnt in. When i did it i had a small run consiting of roughly 600 addresses.

Generally now the larger items are coming in a seperate van but it depends on the area, if your in the middle of nowhere its unlikely to happen like it would in a bigger town.
