i’ve never found one, as that info is “commerical data” so i was told by a company who does sat nav bridge heights, i’d feel sorry for the poor bugger who’d have to travel the country finding every low bridge in the uk, he’d have to have a lot of time on his hands…
ROG…

yes he wants to know just how low that bridge was he has just gone under…before he stops the truck and inspects the damage, probably gazing at the stars in his cab as we speak…
it’s somerton. b3151 and b3153.
funnily enough, we are taking bridge sections down there. maybe someones cleared the way.

imagine hitting a bridge with bridge sections, the irony
Well the bad news is that place is scattered with low bridges… Which way are you thinking of coming into Somerton??
Best way if coming from Shepton Mallet is down the A37 and take a right onto the B3153 @ Lydford-On-Fosse and follow that straight to Somerton.
The low bridges here are situated on the WHITE roads which dont actually have road names etc…
Let me know if your heading into it from another direction.
Dont know your trailer height but dont go by that right turn for Lydford-On-Fosse as a few miles by it on the A37 there is a 14ft9"
i was thinking of coming in from the a39 glastonbury, then down the b3151. cheers pal.

it would make the news. and i would make a quick exit.
If your coming down from Glastonbury A39 onto the B3151 near SOmerton tehre is a 15ft low bridge before teh junction you need to turn right at for Somerton for the B3153. Be a shame to travel all teh way down the B3151 to have to turn back.
Where you actually gonna be coming from or what?? As you could go down the A39 from Glastonbury onto teh A361/A372 (Red Route Road - Maybe crap road but no low bridges.) then onto the B3153.
coming down from fleetwood. so i’ll be coming of at junction 23 of the m5.
but not straight away, i’ll be popping in to the truckstop off junction 24, then turning round back to 23.
well i hope so anyway. they said it’s not stretched out. but you can’t trust people in offices.
they’ll probably be an ■■■■■■ vehicle waiting for me. then that means i’ll have to keep slowing down for him to catch up.
Theres a truck stop off J23 as well, dont know how far along the A39 it is but doesnt seem that far, its called Albion Inn Truckstop. But deffo if your coming from J23 along the A39 and turning down the B3151 your going to meet a 15ft more or less at the crossroads for the B3151 for Somerton. if the J23 truckstop isnt your fancy then go down to 24. Between 23/24 there should be a flyover for the A372, which seems to link Bridgewater to back of beyond where your heading, IE:- slip off when heading back up from 24 onto the A372 and follow that all teh way to Somerton (If you can but doesnt seem likely according to map), but as I said it shows on the map its a RED ROAD, so maybe not teh best, or your other option is back up to J23 - A39 - A361 - A372. But Somerton doesnt seem all that far from teh motorway.
cheers pal. i think i’ll try the albion.
Yeah saves going away down to J24 to come all the way back up.
Albion Inn - 24hr, Parking, Telephone, Showers and beds, but no sign of fuel… If its fuel you need maybe best giving them a phone on 01458210281
What height is your trailer and WTF are you going to tip/load away down there?
PS:- Buy a AA map with bridge heights etc etc
the trailer is a flatbed. but i didn’t want to come across one of those pesky 9’9" arch bridges and hit the cab.
probably end up loading in birmingham or liverpool. i ran up empty to fleetwood from a forest in darkest henley on thames today.
you should have seen it. some serious tree work being done by me. my trailer seemed to clear the path through a forest to a new house build. we spent ages moving branches off the road.
i was asked if i could fit down the lane?
don’t know, i’ll let you know. Bang, bang, clatter, bang, bang, clatter.
yep. it fit.
Well if its a flat bed then your best bet is A39-B3151 then onto the B3153… Only have that 15ft to contend with.
I wouldnt worry about the branches, council will get that. Or some old codger with a burning fire…
I wish scottishcruiser would stop flashing his headlights.
It makes my eyes go funny.
No maps but if you want it on your sat nav then go here http://www.hgvsolutions.com
They have some £100 ex demo models for sale too.
Sorry Boss, the sat nav said it would fit
They should have oiled the roof before they tried that one
Anyone we know?
