One joint - no driving for 3 days

I don’t smoke weed, tried it once as a boy and nearly puked for an entire week but I have mates who do. So if you’re in their house and they spark up does it go into your system? Would that show up on a drug test?

It could. If nothing else it can show up on one of the swab tests like they use in the airport but I believe it would have to be alot

Because its also against the LAW :unamused:

Are you talking about simply taking drugs? Or driving 3 days after you’ve had a joint?

If you mean taking drugs the point is it’s a stupid law and it makes criminals out of law-abiding people who don’t hurt anybody else. Back in in the 60s presumably you’dve been demanding punishment for homosexuals because they were “against the law” too.

If a law is stupid and cruel then surely the most honourable thing to do is break it.

Just shows your own contempt for following rules… You wouldn’t be saying that in Bangkok…

I can see this new “drugalyser” putting an end to lots of peoples driving careers. Apparantly one joint can be detected for 3 days. Imagine being banned from driving for 12 months and your career brought to an end because you smoked a doobie 3 days ago. Perhaps the fabled “driver shortage” will shortly materialise!

At Geopost they used to do random drugs tests. A joint stays in your system for up to a week and shows up in those tests so these things could be a lot worse.

Simply if you drive for a living stay the hell away from it.

The other mail & parcel co with white trucks also do random drug tests, and every time there is an accident or if a post gets scraped os a pallet knocked into

As Tango said - Simple answer - don’t do the stuff!!

Just to clear up a few points, the test the Police are using is a saliva test, not a urine or hair test. Feel free to Google “saliva drug test detection times”, but I think you’ll find detection time is 6-8 hours tops, and that any alcohol-based mouthwash such as Listerine will make cannabis mouth residue undetectable even immediately after smoking.

Doesn’t really bother me either way, I have smoked it but not for years, and I would still rather be in the company of smokers than drinkers.

Harry Monk, you are a very wise man. We need more like you

Rather than worry about how long itll stay in your system, dont put it in there in the first place!

What people do in their non-driving time shouldn’t impact on their job. If it isn’t affecting your driving then why should it be prohibited. It’s easy saying “Don’t do it” if you don’t enjoy it. It’s like bringing in a law saying “You can’t drive after playing football in case you’re fatigued” and then telling everyone “Stop playing football then. Simples”.

Well if your a druggy your not a professional driver so should be off the road, your a danger to the public, driving a 44 tonne killing machine with a zombie at the wheel.if you hit a family on the motorway and kill them you will be in court saying im sorry i have a problem with weed, its too late then. cannabis stays in the system for weeks so your under the influence. GET HELP

I took bucket loads of drugs 20 odd years ago. I’m nearly better now. Will I be okay to take my hgv test yet? I have a sat nav.

Cannabis can be detected in the system for several months, via a hair test. But then, so can alcohol and I’m sure you wouldn’t suggest that somebody should be banned for drink-driving because they go ■■■■■■ three months ago?

Yee haa! Im gonna get me some popcorn and a soft drink.

If I did, I can’t remember it.

Unless you mean the toilet accident I nearly had this week? That was narrowly avoided though.

you should be ok so long as you know what clothes to wear during the test and also for any interview you might eventually get…by then you should know what to take on your 1st night out, planned or unplanned, and where to plug in your inverter during the course of your night out.but remember when booking said test,if you cant drive worth a toss to be able to work the gears thingy, and are a complete fanny, then do it in an automatic.etcetcetcetc.
