did you hear on Jeremy vine about the hgv driver who may lose his career cos he has been smoking cannabis for 12 years because of his mental health issues

12 years of potentially being unfit to drive and risking killing and/or injuring every roaduser near him.

Prick needs putting in jail.

If that second clip ain’t a hoax then she’s had a [zb] load of speed or double dropped a couple of Doves like the ones you got in Ibiza in the early 90s
Imagine her strapping a full load down, from start to finish it would take about 5 mins

All done ain’t moving anywhere

Think of the children

That’s weird, bloke on Jeremy vine said only 8-12 hours for a joint. More like till the next evening for cocaine and heroine. I guess there’ll be a lot of experts claiming differing lengths of what drug lasts whatever because as with anything we all deal with stuff differently.
I can’t think of one bloke that drives a lorry that smokes weed, I don’t think if you have a smoke sat night then go to work Monday you’d be a danger. But the law is the law now, I don’t have to worry about it fortunately, but I don’t think they’ll be targeting truck drivers in all honestly. Be likely to get caught if in an RTA even if not at fault. Like doing a breath test.

Can’t you. I might be able to think of at least a handful without having to try to hard. Allegedly of course

there might be a shortage of 4 on 4 off jobs if people want to have a smoke …

I can think of three or four I know and I haven’t been in the industry for getting on for 2 years. When I was working as a driver I could have named at least a dozen with no problem.

Bumhats, no more Special K for breakfast now then

JeffA:
I can see this new “drugalyser” putting an end to lots of peoples driving careers. Apparantly one joint can be detected for 3 days. Imagine being banned from driving for 12 months and your career brought to an end because you smoked a doobie 3 days ago. Perhaps the fabled “driver shortage” will shortly materialise!

At Geopost they used to do random drugs tests. A joint stays in your system for up to a week and shows up in those tests so these things could be a lot worse.

Simply if you drive for a living stay the hell away from it.

Heroin will get out off your system within 24 hours with lots of water.the reason its the number one drug in the UK prison system

What people do in their non-driving time shouldn’t impact on their job. If it isn’t affecting your driving then why should it be prohibited. It’s easy saying “Don’t do it” if you don’t enjoy it. It’s like bringing in a law saying “You can’t drive after playing football in case you’re fatigued” and then telling everyone “Stop playing football then. Simples”.

Are you talking about simply taking drugs? Or driving 3 days after you’ve had a joint?

If you mean taking drugs the point is it’s a stupid law and it makes criminals out of law-abiding people who don’t hurt anybody else. Back in in the 60s presumably you’dve been demanding punishment for homosexuals because they were “against the law” too.

If a law is stupid and cruel then surely the most honourable thing to do is break it.
