Hi Steve
I had a b reg 142 with the estepe roof conv but i did drive b847 from timeto time it went a lot better than mine to be honest,
im pleased that she still doing you proud i will mention it to my old gaffer and good freind alan taylor who regrets selling her in a heated moment in the yard one night i remember it well,
before alan had it it beloinged to mark young at uttoxeter another haulage legend who is now enjoying life and she was doing regular italy greece all over ,
she came to us at a.s.t early 90s again doing europe up until 99/2000 and she was sold to make room for renault magnums which have also now been sold.
great news steve hope she does you proud fo anothe rten yrs…
cheers

I saw this a few hours ago on the A1 north just above Scotch Corner. She’s V reg. Sorry about the poor quality of the pictures. Thanks Sam

Hello Derbyshire Foden.
The Sed Atki VGR808V is 32 years old and works every day.
I was talking to Les the owner of that lorry last night,he was parked up at Hatfield Herts last night, and was tipping his load of Steel am today.
His is Les Baston from Amble in Northumberland.
He is a good man and very proud of his lorry.

Regards

F Troop.

Hello Ftroop, I was looking for you at Brunton the other week but no joy I did see Les’s ERF and I had a chat with Paul Pearson. I didn’t meet anyone else. Regards Kev.

This old Scania is a regular in Sonoco Stainland, Its based at Todmorden, the driver reckons his gaffa has a few of a similar age still working.

I don’t know whether the driver of this ERF has had a new windscreen, or if he is putting up his Xmas bunting.

Hi Kev,
Arrived at Brunton about 13.30,Made my way round to where Les was and hopefully Larry, spent about an hour and a half talking to a lot of drivers who had gathered round Les’s lorry.Had a good chat with the lad from Consett who had the 2 ERF car transporters,
Was disappointed when Les told me about Larry, was looking forward to the crack with Larry,Would loved to have had a chat with you.

Regards

F Troop.

Well F Troop It was a bad day for me realley, A mean running oot of petrol, mind you the gauge was showing 3/4s & I was told there was plenty of juice in it by Colin, but of course he didnt know that the fuel gauge was dodgey, he only found out on the Monday that it was allways faultey, all the time they have had it I thought to myself that the bloke that used to take it to these shows might have said something about it Eh, Anyway there is allways next year, The first one is Corbridge I think then Otterburn so If Im still about thats where I will be with Colins Classic Austin a dream to drive it brings back the first of my driving days when I was a young lad raring to get behind the wheel of a wagon, I loved it & still do, Regards Larry.

I wonder if that one is an ex Supermarket unit? 320bhp on a 4w skip wagon seems a bit of overkill. Plus a groundworker/haulier near here has a tipper that was ex Waitrose, L reg and same bhp. He told me years ago that is was far cheaper than buying a brand new 4wheeler.

I reckon thats an ex Tesco unit

Cheers Dave.
