Hi
Is it an optical illusion or is it just the way it,s landed but do you think that truck is the expermental twin engine Ford that HTS ran. I am going by the height of the cab above the front wheel.
If it is that truck I wonder if Ford,s stipulated that it was to be tested to that extent!

The Ford Double D as it was known was a 6x4 tractor unit with two 6 cylinder ‘Ford D Series’ engines set upright in parallel.

No quite so !!!

It was in Holland, you are correct in that the Dutch demanded the the wide load was turned, then the Police took the vehicle onto the wrong route, the route that had been organised by the Dutch Police!!! It was destined for delivery in Charleroi.

There i was minding my own business heading up the M5 from Penzance back home to Preston, when two vehicles heading in the opposite direction decided to have a fall out, the Blue Mondeo in the pictures came of worst after being pushed across the contraflow through the cones and under the front of yours faithfully.

Three squadies in the Mondeo, the rear passenger who was sleeping received a broken arm, the rest walking wounded.
The impact sheared of my steering hence the reason I’m right across the other carriageway.

Guess what the other vehicle involved in the argy bargy drove off, Thanks Buddy. !!, Gave himself up at the services…
