Hiya…i’ll go with Stirlands from Notts. the Black and white ERF is Lankro from near Eccles so i’d go with
southbound M1 about 1/2 a mile after Jct 11 Luton the road used to go round to the left as you started
climbing…all changed now as its got a longer slip road and 4 lanes…there must be some rubber necking
going on northbound theres no traffic at all going north. unless something happend northbound first causing
some hold up southbound and the ERF has nearly run into back of stationary traffic so hes gone for the middle.
JohnHiya John, Wasn"t sure Myself but thought the black/white ERF was CPC Glucose, they did look similar? Cheers Chris.
I agree Chris,Corn Products from Tenax Rd Trafford Park looks to be my take on the ERF

Superb layout Gordon. My uncle was driving for Birch Bros on London service and let two fire engines onto the M1 at J12, then sat there for nearly 8 hours.
Thank you for the comment. The accident was at Ridgemont Beds March 1972. Sadly there was a few fatalities and many serious injury.
I was a firefighter at Luton Airport at the time and we had a Full alert for an incoming passenger plane, so we had about 8 Beds / Herts Fire and many Ambulances as well as Police vehicles in attendance. It was only when the fog started to lift that the full extent and scale of the accident appeared. They took as many emergency vehicles as poss away to the M1, Then as soon as the aircraft landed safely all the remaining ones were released to the accident.
51 vehicle pile-up in 1991 on the M4 in Berkshire, which happened near the town of Hungerford and left 10 people dead and a further 25 injured.
