I suppose the driver didn’t spot the body going up when he looked in his mirrors? Or wondered why the engine seemed to be labouring a bit?

Agency driver?
Oops, politically incorrect!
A long time ago. The location was, I think, the A4117 between Cleobury Mortimer and the A 456 west of Kidderminster. The machine was a road planer, and the tank still contained gas at the time of the incident. The driver was Sam Rackham, who last time I heard, lived in Anaheim, California. He appeared in a TV documentary in recent times, as being the driver the world’s most expensive truck, the value being in all the tv and film making equipment that was installed in the trailer !
Hi rob the dog,i posted the ROKOLD TRUCK AS I WORKED THERE THE TRUUCK WAS LOADED WITH hanging meat lambs only half loaded on route for me and the stops inside the truck on the rails to stop the meat sliding around were not properly clipped down, abitiors fault but you would not know you trusted them whoops,ps the driver got out ok …stoped a car passing took him 20 miles home then he rang the office they all thought he was underneath it…

Shaw and Kilburn were a Vauxhall/Bedford dealer with a number of depots in and around London, so that picture could be anywhere.

Typical , just bloody typical !!!
Someone reverses an 8 pot Big J , to get a clear rear of cab view , then just as photo is about to be taken ,the poor ERF driver gets such a shock at seeing such a thing he loses control & tips over right in front of it

It must be from late 77 onwards as there is a Volvo F10/12 on the hard shoulder between the ERF and Scammell Crusader
cheers Johnnie

… Also the Mk2 Ford Granada - launched in August 77
…and the ERF driver looks a bit shocked, wrapped up in black blanket, sitting on the crash barrier,my other comment is the lack of police,I can see a Range Rover to the rear, and that’s it,today there would be 10 cars with 2 cops per car, overload!!!
David
That looks possibly M1 Southbound Toddington Services - J11 about level with the power station ■■ I think ther TM was based at Shaw & Kilburn Luton. Just noticed the Transits at the rear look like Beds CC vehicles.
