Aye I think that is the one on the old A 1 It was demolished not to long ago it was Shell then Jet. Dixons on the other side had a cafe as well it was a wooden building in the 50s. Larry.
Bumper PH. they must have had an earlier depot if they moved in after Oughbridge ceased trading, the reason I ask this is because I went to college in Newcastle in 1949 with Bernard Hare, & twice a week they ran to Newcastle Morden Street where all the carriers parked & loaded with parcels etc. they had a petrol O Model Bedford & they used to pick me up at the bus stop at Seaton Burn, Regards Larry

Re. defect sheets, Both my sons worked in the fitting shop of a well known Newcastle Haulier. He bought some second hand Scanias & told the fitters to examine them to the last detail & report on paper any defects, well now one of the fitters called Garry filled the defect sheet in & noted that the fuel tank was shagged as well as the tyres. The gaffer came over into the workshop with a puzzled look on his face and asked what was wrong with the tank & the tyres, he was told they were totaly shagged . he replied what do you mean shagged, well the fitters were in stitches of laughter, he the demmanded to know what the hell were they laughing at, when they told him in plain English he went away shaking his head, they never new if he actully new what they meant by the word shagged, He sold the company to a Scotsman, which Im sure would have known what the fitter meant Regards Larry.
