were doing Frans Maas work, another firm i had forgotten about??

he did a lot of work for a company that made electricity transformer boxes at hartlepool i think dont know the name of the firm
all his motors were MANs, i used to maintain them, he rented part of pinningtons garage in crook iirc they used to run double decker buses so the garage was big enough to house the curtainsiders

I know the garage you are on about Hilarys used to park a few Coaches there I thought the lad with the beard who drove the Drawbar was the fitter for Taylors as he used to come to Toronto in the LT pick odd times for spanners and other bits of gear.

the lad with the beard was called stevie he was a driver but would help out in the garage.
i was self employed so used to do his maintenance at weekends or prepare them for mot during the week when required
forgot about the lt pick up he had did a couple runs to leith in that with transformer boxes also used to tip wagons and reload them on occasions

F7sid, you havenāt got any pics of Cazaly Bros tippers from the Sixties or Seventies by any chance, I remember a driver lived a couple of doors away from our house and he often had his motor at home, Iām sure I recall an 8 legger Aki, they had quite a nice livery then. Cheers Franky.

Franky,back in the early sixty cazaly bros ran dodge artics and 6 leggers, used to do bales of peat from cowdenbeath to the NCB northumberland and durham pits donāt remember them having an Atkinson 8 legger, dave carling has now retired, will speak to him about going for a drink, will you be able to make it, bumper

To split a hair Clark Taylor were also wholesale coal merchants. We got all our coal and coke via them.
Can you remeber the name of the guy who used run Cazalyās.
Used to do backloads for cazaly when on for Armstrongs usualy bricks back to their yard At Brunswick,

hi ya, tyneside the guy who was in charge at cazalys was jim watson, he used to work for mckenna ran green bedford their yard was end of railway st, did a lot out of raineās steel, some of the older guy will remember mckennaās, bumper
Aye Bumper I remember Mckennas Jack Young drove for them for a while also ā ā ā ā ā ā Bowman they had a chinesse 6 the came from O&Bs the one Matty Carter got when it was new I think it was JCN44. they also did a bit warehousing on a small scale and Im sure Joe Dimmick drove a AEC artic for them they used to get down the smoke quite often, Cheers Larry
