Did Tucky end up with ERF at his Nasco place ? Regards Larry
The wagon should have been a sedd ak with a gardner in but engine factory went on strike like a lot of other companys in those days,Rowland seemed to think some else got the sedd ak he ordered as the dealer bell trucks offered him one with a ■■■■■■■■■■■■ cancelled ERF same chassis length bought so body went straight on with 220 ■■■■■■■ !

There’s not many long serving drivers left at Fergies now Gary, most have retired or left after the Waugh’s takeover. Davy Clark is still there, Hughie Baird and Micky Beer retired last year, Albert Kelly is still there (over 30 years now) most of the Wooler drivers left when Fergies lost the Scotts work although Alan Easton stayed on as a nightshift driver until he retired a couple of years ago.Steve West is in the office. Bobby Nicholson went to James Bros. You probably know that Bob Brown died a few years ago but Alec Purvis is still in the office, due to retire at the back end of this year. Most of the trampers there now are new faces or ex Waughy’s men.
hi bri i sometimes see alan easton in wooler when i deliver 2 the coop there n a always have the job stopped there having a bit crack with him the locals winge on but alan knows everybody there just tells them where 2 go sometimes see young john purvis on his travels but other than that like u say new faces
Aye I forgot about John Purvis, can’t miss him he fills the windscreen. Last I heard of Alan Easton he was driving a taxi for his Brother in law.

If I’m not mistaken that Bowmans Seddak ended it’s days with Douglass Bros in Blyth before going to Central Stores (Coatesy’s)

and this ex M&M Haulage 86 he had after that,
he had another 6 wheeler 86 after that then the 8 wheeler and finnished up with this F7
No this Dodge is a six wheeler painted Tilcons colours but it belonged to Les Scott I think he still has a tipper on Tarmac the 6 wheeler Volvo I remember very well Ronnie Story swapped bodys to put on his ERF to get the tare weight down now Im sure that ERF belonged to Kenny Balls father & law ? Cheers Larry

Is that the Shephards from down Bishop way? I can remember running scrap out of Dalzeill works at Motherwell into Lackenby and they were on the job. I think it was J J Wards from Leaming that we subbed it off. Shephards “sailed a bit close to the wind” if you get my drift. At the time the Yorkshire Post were running a bit of a campaign against them.
