Hiya - is that you Bob? My grandad worked for Geordie & Les, first of all driving 4 wheel Albions and finished off driving a day cab Seddon Atkinson with a ■■■■■■■ in it which was later used as the shunter when I worked there in the garage. He lived at Barley Mow - 3 doors down from the club, 50 Bedford Avenue.

Hiya Mark. I’s Allen. Just found out about this site and am amazed at how many old photos you’ve got. Often see your dad, don’t know if he’s got a CB in though and is that your Graham who’s working for Brian Wragg now? Are you still suntanned or are you still bathing in gravy granules? Take care and tell your dad and Graham I’m asking after them. Also, Stevie Fairbairn is at Johnson’s now and is asking after everybody.

Was talking to Alan Murray his dad worked for CWS & drove LTN 265 this was then sold to H Payne ( he does have a pic of it from then but would like a pic from CWS if anybody has any it is a Leyland octopus split windscreen as I understand it was in Truck & Driver about 20 yr backThink his dad would also like one ( he has just turned 84 ) although he has limited internet access ( work only ) Alan work’s at Remploy Benton Rd industrial est
Like most at the time he didnt think to carry a camera but does have a lot of stories to tell will try to get some next time I get in there to load
I think the 8 wheeler octopus you are refering to was originally bourght by Barry Brash who had the Salt Box cafe at Uttoxetter & its stable mate went to Crows of Gateshead & Another one went to Brownlees Transport Condercum Rd. Benwell ?

Few more of Granville bells lorrys
Hi Marcus 22,
I remember Granvilles Scania 141, it was supplied by Union Trucks, and Painted and lettered at Stanley IIRC 1981.
Granville Bells’ 141 truck colour scheme, which was loosely copied to that of a 1982 Scania 142 Unit that was
owner driven from a guy from Bedale North Yorks. The name “Dalesman” was always painted on the front of his trucks.
I don’t know the guys name but he used to pull fridges down into France. His 142 was written off in a bad accident. (Hit a bridge support column in France). Probably somebody on this forum will remember his name.
Cheers
Phil.
