Or a car transporter
It’s an old north east haulage forum and has been entertaining over the last few weeks, glendinnings is an old ne company and has just had a few drivers chatting, would have been quiet on here otherwise.
As for Harry long retired, he has been corrected on his facts by a few people, and has contradicted himself many times, its just banter and he gives it back.
Now back to the old trucks thread featuring glennys
Thanks bob not long till I retire

I like it Vic!
Thames Trader Brockhouse trailer middle to late 50’s. Smarts the MG dealer in Newcastle had a one similar with a BMC unit on the front.
Back to the Glennys Face book then, never worked for him but seen enough delivering fuel to Shotley Bridge and Pity Me.
First wagon I had 1969 1965 Thames trader not a bender though I was only a 20yr old.
Anything on here on Fultons Sacriston they had one or two old Transporters mate of mine used to drive for him Alec Gibson (RIP)he left Fultons & started same day as me at Collinsons Chopwell

Well said auld man, I agree with you lets draw a line under it and get back to the thread, I will start the ball rolling:
Its old, not a 55 footer, not a transporter but it did do long distance when the general motors were busy down to Fawley & Milford Haven with the sides removed. As a tipper it worked on coal out of the local pits, Sulphate of Ammonia out of the local coke works to Ayr and was double shifted for a while out of ICI Billingham to Methil. Cannot imagine it getting very far very quick!!

Hi Geek
I remember one of the Fultons Trucks it was a new Carrimore trailer, on its first load the driver fastened the last car on the top deck to the bottom deck and put the deck up, the trailer top deck was bent and returned to Stanley to be repaired, don’t think it would have done the car much good either

Move on victor, and start a new thread, you’re disrupting what has been a popular thread!
Cheeky, its you lot should move on to face book, end of story.
v7victor:
Cheeky bugger
Thanks victor for another worthwhile contribution to this thread by yourself.
You seem intent on trying to ruin it for everyone else!
Transporterman kindly explained your last photo, to which you responded with some drivel about glennys facebook.
Post up a picture of your tanker and at least make a contribution to the title of this thread.
This is the last I will say on it.

If your saying it’s only been entertaining since glendennings ex staff started to contribute you need to think again, the thread would have fizzled out long ago if it had been boring.Ps Harry can hold his corner anyday on this thread, but now its getting offensive, personal and BORING!!!
Good comment.vic.
my attempt to get this thread back on track, tsk tsk. some north east firms from other threads etc. please dont ruin a good thread kiddies.

How many vehicles did R Durhams have?
It would be good if we could have John Dee period (rather like the WA Glendinning period we’ve just had) they expanded at an large rate and then went bust so quickly. I believe at one stage they had over 350 vehicles.
I have really enjoyed the WA Glendinning posts and I appreciate all the photos being posted on here, IMHO long may we discuss this very important company.
Does anyone have photos of their:
Scanias
Fodens
T45s
Magirus Deutz
Ford Cargos
Renault Majors

Would it not be easier to open a Glendinning thread then past Glenny’s can chat away merrily and others can view it and input if they want to, gets a bit boring dominating the thread with one company and drivers not everybody knows. Franky.
how about some more old tippers then
Davidson and Adamson
