A couple of years ago put a photo of my uncles wagon with a John Dee MAN behind it in their old colours of yellow, saying about them been long gone and seem to remember a reply saying that they were still on the go but trading as Katem Logistics now.

Well Harry let me tell you about this Scania, Ive driven it with Containers, & Tipper type bodied stuff,It was nice to drive empty or loaded, Its still at Stans Place at Kirkley Saw Mill, Sadley he passed away on Friday Night, He will certainley be missed by me & my family as we have been friends for years, Along with his Family & all his friends, R I P Stan The Man, Regards Larry & Family.

Ah yes it was these Geo Vardy motors I remembered rather than those of Reg Vardy, cheers Tyneside. If that Scania 113 was originally a tractor unit then it must have been stretched, the wheelbase is too long for a UK spec 4x2 or even 6x2 tractor. Van Hee had a couple of 6 wheeler 92’s that had chassis extensions put on the rear but the swing out when the rear axle was lifted had to be borne in mind, especially at tight corners. :astonished: Franky.
