Hiya,
This little Scania looks very arse end heavy and very light on the steering
bet it was fun turning left or right at junctions.
When I worked for Knight Berkley at Portobello, Birtley for a short period, the gaffer there had something to do with John Dee. I can’t recall the exact reasons now when told why Dee stopped operating but I’m sure it was financial problems, which in most cases it is. Good to see those John Arthur motors, I often bumped into little Stan Bolam, who drove for them, when I loaded out of the Chemical works in Sunderland Docks. Stan was a good mate of my Fathers from their Ouseburn days, smashing bloke. Sadly I’m sure someone once mentioned he had passed away a few years ago. Franky.
Hi Harry looks like a unit with a midlift on it.there’s a 113 scania skip motor which looks similar running about our area it’s about 30 year old and still grafting cheers Ray
