Who remembers this company C. Herring from Hartlepool? Were in the trailer scheme at BSC Lackenby so did a lot of steel around the country.

I’ve just received this shot of “my fleet” from about 1995, taken by Jim Wilkinson in Ralph Crow’s at Felling , and passed on by his son Iain. Regards Kev.

Stockton haulage, they moved a lot of steel to Ireland back in the 70s.

Hi Larry, Hope you are keeping well & safe.

Them trailers were about 55/60 foot, I remember picking one up out of their yard in Stranraer, it was parked down the slope of a loading ramp,
it took me about three attempts to do the u turn required at the top of the ramp in their yard, I kept misjudging the turning point on the axles.
It was a very slow start down the A75 until I got the hang of it, The bridge between Castle Douglas & Dumfries with the sharp left was interesting.

Stockton Haulage had some trailers longer than 60ft, one particular one was i think nearly 70 foot with the axles set right back, that was fun as you say it did make you think. Used to do a bit of subby work for them usually long stuff over to Heysham that particular trailer was fun going through Lancaster on the way to Heysham port happy days!
