Frankydobo:
Some good info Tyneside on the later history of Mole’s, there was a lad in the next street to ours in Fatfield possibly late 80’s who drove a Sed Aki tipper for Mole’s, just a white cab then but if I recall it had the maroon chassis, I’m guessing they didn’t last too long after as I never saw the motor after a while. My Father came from Washington and knew a Sid Fisher from his school days, this could have been him or his son maybe depending on age. Cheers Franky.
Hi Franky
That could of been Eddy Welch, he drove for us for a number of years and I know he was working for Mole’s about that time.
If Sid Fisher is still around he will be into his 90’s, I last saw him about 30 years ago and he had been retired a while then but was driving the staff mini bus at the George Washington Hotel on a Friday & Saturday night.

IIRC, The Bowey Group Ltd ran a few Spanish Dodges as well as their Sedakis, Also I think that Robsons of Slaley had two ex Bowey Sedakis which ran out of Moot Law Quarry in the early 90s. Regards Larry.
Hi Larry
Yes Moles (Bowey) had about 4/5 Spanish Dodge 6 weelers. Ted Smith was big mates with John Sisterson so it didn’t take long for SA to appear in the fleet.
Can you remember when the Bowey family had the farm / equestrian centre at Stannington, IIRC one of the family represented GB on the international show jumping circuit.

John Sisterson, there’s a name I knew quite well, I last met him at Paynter and Stadium, when he loaned me an ERF Demonstrator for a week. Regards Kev.

That’s got to be the same Sid Fisher Tyneside, although my Father pass away in 2008 he would have been around 93/4 yrs old today. I recall Dad saying Sid had a bit of a stutter is that right, he was a good laugh too though apparently. Bowsden Tce must have been a good spot for starting off in transport, I had a look down there one day and there didn’t seem to be a lot of room.
Franky.
