Was chatting with my son and mentioned some of the old companies on here and how I came to work/ be in contact with them, told him some of the firms such as Robsons Carlisle, [ Border Reiver etc. any pics?] and was talking about the old CB stuff. I told him of 633 Squadron, and thought that was Barnfather and Wilkes, but as I think more Iâm sure that was wrong. Can anybody help me out here? Who were 633 Squadron.? Its doin me heed in like.

See by your signature you were a sheeting man, Wonder how many of the young uns these days can do a âWagon drivers Hitchâ or dolly up a loadâŚeven fold a sheet, let alone put one on rightâŚI was taught by my Uncle Harry and a lad called Arthur Pearson, sadly both gone nowâŚ

Great pics of Robsons. They used to carry Plaster from British Gypsum Penrith to where I worked. It was one of their drivers finally âconvincedâ our Boss to actually try a forklift for unloadingâŚIt used to be ALL handball. Plaster Plasterboards Cement Bricks Blocks Land Drain Tiles, and not small loads eitherâŚMost drivers would help unload. Even see 4 wheelers here with a dismountable flt on the back, Dont know there bornâŚ
Still one or two flats about jimbo but not that many all fabricating & heavy manufacturing disapearing from the North East now. Had 29yr ropes & Sheets but apart from a month I did for Ray Wright the last 9yr been Tanks then curtains. How long since you lived over here .
Cheers David, how about some of your own wagons.
Brian.
