I called on my best mate today, Arthur Lowdon of G.Lowdon Seaton Burn, I lived at Seaton Burn before & during the war years, I spent a lot of time at his garage in those days going for carbide for the old mans pit lamp, the carbide I was once told when I first started driving for Baxters on the Quayside was stored at Steenburghs which I no doubt is true, Arthur has got some cracking photos from way back, SO im going to help him sort them out & put them on thiholmes thread, Regards Larry & Old Arthur, he was also a good pal of the late Parkey Denome, another one of my best mates from the 50s.
