I always thought them Hinos were ugly D& A had had one or two Kieth cant remember his second name now, drove one of the units. It also brings back memories of a job we used to do for D&A when on for Collinson Bros, pockets of Hops for Scottish & Newcastle on a flat out of Kent. Special way of loading them with ropes & one hanging over the back of the trailer 2 or 3 high with a binder on the top they overhung by about 10inches either side & had to be fully sheeted dripper & all , ugly load to look at ,anyway coming up one Friday got stopped Dartford tunnel JOBSWORTH tape measure out wanting to charge me for ■■■■■■ ( been through countless times with same load no prob)anyway after telling him where to stick his hat sideways did a U,ey (no barrier them days) & buggerd off back down to A2 expecting a blue light following but they Didnt. into London Woolich Ferry too busy Backwall a No No to high & wide so Tower Bridge ( you could them days) & stop start traffic right up to A1. Can`t remember how many times I cursed jobsworth

the lad you were thinking of was kieth dorman he now drive car transporters so i have been told and yes hinos were ugly but thay were great for site work

I think Keith Dorman’s brother Barry, worked for Davison and Adamson at Stoneygate Lane, didn’t he also go on car transporters? Regards Kevmac47.

Hi think keith name was boyle barry’s stepbrother, all the family worked at D@A matty barry keith at Pottery lane Newcastle then station lane birtley had some great times working with the D@A team cheers bob.

Aye your right kev brother as well , have known Kieth since he first had his licence when he was on for Ge Armstrong when they were on Bensham bank in fact I think he went from Armstrongs to Davidsons. Then when Davidsons had thier bust up I worked with Kieth out of Melinate when he had the White & was working for Norman Keelyside. Me & him wrote to Tollmans at Brentwood when they were building Nissan got a nice reply but never got a job. Hes been on the cars quite a while now if hes still driving havent seen him in prob last10 yr. You still on the daf Kev havent seen you for a while. Your mate crowbar got himself another award up at Corbridge the other day.
Hello Bob its Kenny from Collinson Armstrong etc hows it going you still working.
