the regular driver of this beauty was George but I had the pleasure of tramping with this motor a few times and enjoyed every minute behind the wheel. it went like a train and drove like a car. The pies weren’t to bad either.

Its a shame In the early 90s when the distribution site for tindales was on the north side of scotswood bridge they had 7 artics 1 rigid running round the country and 1 artic 1 rigid doing locals which also ran between burnopfield and scotswood. you still cant beat an oval tindale pie from the chippy
Aye that would have been the old Williams pie factory, I used to deliver flour to them both in the early 80’s, both of them were always busy. I’m sure Williams used to have two other sites, one on the West Rd and I think the other was at Newton Aycliffe which used to have an on site takeaway.

Never seem to see his motors now Larry , the only work I seem to do in the Northeast is a few drops on a Friday morning then load Nissan or V A G for Monday .Cant say I’ve seen them on the spine road but saying that I only see home on a Friday lol

Does any of you oldies remember Marsden Warehouse,s Ltd They had a yard in Gateshead Pippwellgate I think it was along past Bretts Oils, They also had a place next to 17 shed on the Quay, I can only remember a few drivers names --Ronnie Boyd, Jimmy Nicholson, Bobby Heppple Sandy ■■?. Arthur Fox. & in later years Eddie Stevenson, They ran a mixed fleet in those days any mems anyone, Regards Larry.
A driver called Eddie used to drive the Foden S80 M-reg if i remember was from cramlington i think ? could this be the same

I do know a lad called Eddie Stephenson he worked at Mars dens a long , Im sure his brother Len was there to, Hes retired know & as far as I know he lives at Annitsford, He had one of the first 6 wheel Daf tractor units they had a C reg perhaps. Regards Larry.
