Would rather have the DAF cf than the Renaults we got tbh although the 1 I was in today was at least clean inside as the driver does look after it & he only a kid

Would agree animal we have half a dozen of them but the cab sits a lot higher so not as good for the transporter …

Nearly all curtain siders a couple old fridge units ( not used as fridge ) couple of concertina type curtains with the hiab inside from 7.5 upto artic mainly Renault premiums a few magnums few cf couple volvos 1 a fl10

I can remember when I was a kid playing on a rope swing near the Black Bull Pub in Benton. Old man Blackett come a long and cut it down he used to drive a Jag reg GB 19. Correct me if I am wrong but this sticks in my mind for some reason. Never worked for him but did a bit for his rival Richardsons of Forrest Hall. Never forgave Blackett for cutting my swing down.

Blacketts were a regular site when I was a youngster in Longbenton, along with Mole’s, Pugh’s, Richardson’s and other Tipper names, for the size of the area there was a lot of haulage about. My treck to Ellis’s every morning took me past the Black Bull and the Sun but I never got in there until a few years later! I haven’t been that way for a while so I’m not sure they are still open, pubs are going down fast thesedays and struggling just like haulage, I saw a Fergy’s motor pulling an Elddis trailer the other morning, how things have changed. Franky.

Aye Franky I saw a Fergie unit with a Elldis Curtainsider on, Perhaps from Kimberley Clarks at Prudhoe ■■?., everybody seems to be in there now, as you say how things have changed over the years, Regards Larry.

Yep seen this as well also a lot of different units pulling different people trailers but as you say everybody seem to be in at Prudhoe Mill these days

Think there,s only two main company,s in prudhoe Elddis and DHL, a lot of subbies in doing DHL work.

Aye I passed there last week & I noticed some of Ramages gear standing there, Regards Larry.
