Your right Larry they were in the old chapel at Greenside that is now Cliffs, they then moved into the old pit yard while Rolly Hands had it then they ended up at Prudhoe.

Yeah i remember now,i used to deliver paper sacks to some one on the left up Greenside bank (handball) do you remember who that could be!(that was just a house)!!!

If the paper bags were used for flour and the house was opposite a pub called the rose and crown that would of been Colin Robsons who are now in CRSs old yard which is just down the lane from the old pub

Well you could be quite right there , because Colin had a lot of work out of Spillers, He did in fact run there gear up to Aberdeen,well young Clifton did it with a 6 wheeler Reiver, plus all the local work they had , the bloody good old days , Regards Larry PS, Colin was a great bloke, he could turn his hand to owt di dee wi wagons, & I make know doubt Cliffy is a chip off the old block, , Regards Larry.
Another old haulier Harry Laybourne, & his lads, Harry was a great bloke he would have a go at anything, He was on the Spratts job at North Shields in the 70s. long gone now, sadley to say, plenty of dosh to be made in those days, Harry, well realey I could only describe him as a true hard working gent, I would like to hear from him If he is still about, I know Steven one of his sons is still going, Regards Larry.

Hi Lawrence The photo was taken l think ,going by looking at the big bulding behind ,was Armstrong Whitworths or THE CLOSE WORKS as it was when l was a going to school , on the corner of East street and Park Lane.

You must have a hell of a good memoiry because we onlt had one mark 5 Seddon which came from COXONS at Anfieldplain when they closed down, and it was a LPT REG No.

sorry never seen geordie hogg for a long time .heres a couple more ex brian old lads that i know nev who has the sandwich van next to b.q now and robbie not sure last name worked with him at new county and phil gent worked with him at north east concrete he,s now at burrells. all nice people though.

Just looking at the Foden. I worked with a guy called Ned StampâŚwe both drove diggers for Pioneer plant at Blaydon about 1972. He left and set up as an owner (digger) driver. Wonder if he went into haulage too. InterestingâŚ

can you remember what year coxons finished my dad used to drive for them he had an AEC artic. he didnt work there long but i cant remember whether he left before they finished or not. knowing the year would help me remember
