No I dont think there was any connection Hull & Glasgow was in the same Yard as Archbolds o Leeds just off Causeyside st, Ritchies was in a Yard on the other Side of the Street.
Hello every one, I used to know a driver in the '70’s who worked for a smallish company near Hull. I can’t remember the name but they were red Daf 2200s and had Hull-London in yellow on the front. He was a fair haired chap and often in Tilbury backloading timber along with a lot more of us. At the time I worked for Perfects of Gt Yarmouth and drove an old Foden.

Do any of you Hull lads remember a firm called Hearld or Heald Transport from Hedon Road. They were not a big outfit but our general men used to back load from them when in Hull. Their depot was just as you come over Drypool Bridge somewhere near the start of Holderness Road. We also had a motor that ran in Priestmans colours, it delivered new excavators from the factory on Hedon Road to the docks and customers nationwide. When on a fiddle home to our native York, Hull motors were always a good source of lifts from up the A1 into York and back out again the next morning.
Many years later when I was driving for Flowers of York we used to load off Hull docks through Gillyott and Scotts.
My pal Vic Makey has LV Brooksbanks S36 Foden heavy haulage tractor which is still in its original livery and I sometimes get to drive it and whenever I get the chance take it for a blast through Hull just for old times sake!
regards doublereduction.

I bought a DAF 2800 from John Cox. No pictures though, I lost them all about 10 years ago.
Bubbleman had some Springfield Fodens on the site and there are a few old Yeardley on the search button
