Hi.
Guess it was a long shot,it was some years ago,and i was the “Young Buck” on the job, still,i have very happy memories,of all those named and of Hull itself. Lived at Wawne, while we were there,Bransholme was just starting to be built.
Stay well, stay lucky, don’t forget to use Woodside, its part of “Trucking History”,use it or lose it.

Wheel Nut:
Richardsons of Hull before it was ruined

Hi Wheelnut

Your photo of Richardson stirred the grey matter as I remember early to mid fifties as I recall. Pat Shillings from Howden drove an eight legger AEC Mammoth with a four wheel drawbar trunking down to London. His eldest son was a good school pal of mine David Shillings who sadly passed away before he reached his teens. They lived down Boothferry Road Avenue and the Richardson unit fully loaded would park on the verge at the top of the avenue. Pat was a big bike enthusiast riding his own machine at the TT Races each year. I fail to remember the model he used to ride though. As you say Richardson one of the great outfits of the day in Hull.

You mentioned Bill Riseham earlier. I knew him very well but doubt he is still with us, he was very poorly the last time I saw him with a lung disease. He was a great mechanical engineer and would have hated you calling him a fitter.

You also mentioned Pat Shillings, would that be Peter Shillings dad as Pete raced a Yamaha TZ in the 70’s and 80’s and now his son Matthew is making inroads into the sport GB Thundersports on an Aprilia.

I would love a clearer picture of the Scania. I bought it and ran it for a couple of months, but it used more oil than diesel and had cab rot.

Here is its sister!

I am buggered if I can remember the registration now but it was very close to PFU377S

Anyone got any Photos of Tom Fisher from Newbald?
