Does he get European night-out rate then?
Deffo!
He’s just had his work permit stamped at the border by an Eastern European on minimum wage.

Ok ROF my plea is that it’s a borderline case and should be treated with leniency, with the inclusion of a binding order to be more observant of geographical positioning in future

If he’s anything like the one’s that work for us, he’s still overpaid even on the minimum wage
Well it was my first day today…
For a start I got a lift with other Bunkers Hill drivers to head office to find not a weary “soon to go back” Scania as several people have told me, but a well looked after 11 plate MAN with auto 'box. It’s in stealth mode ie painted in the Multi Agg livery of white and brown. Left Shellingford at 8am and was parked up at Bunkers in the front door at 4.40pm. Didn’t even find out when the limiter cuts in.
Is it safe to assume that this new job of yours involves piloting a tipper around the countryside? Wot, no bags up steps?

It’s OK, Oily. I’ve made allowance for you being positioned almost in Iceland!

Your assumption is correct, on both counts. I don’t even need to get out and undo the tailgate.
Talking of old firms, most of the old Shipton cement works has now been demolished. Just the chimney and some concrete silos (most of which were the slurry tanks) now remain. I’ve heard someone is trying to get a preservation order on the chimney, the rest is being quarried. The demolition work has produced some very good ■■■■■■■■.
You’ll get fat!!!
Nice to speak to some Smiths drivers on the cb today. Haven’t seen many of them around yet I’ve delivered quite a few loads just around the corner from their pits.

I’m on for Earthline, driving an 8w MAN. It’s in the away colours of white cab and brown tipper though (Multi Agg livery). i don’t know why it’s in those colours, something to do with Earthline buying them out so I’m told. Been a good job so far, home before 5.30pm every night and an extra 2.5 hours in bed compared with previous job.
I’ll try and put up some photos later, but the attachment thing on here is playing up, takes ages and then the screen goes blank.
Callum’s doing well, nearly 2 and a half now and is a crafty little so and so at times.
Is it me or does the wheelbase on that Hayter lorry look strange? I think that’s longer than Matthews’ 6wheelers.
