Hi Jakey, Must admit a bit more room in the daf and not a bit more refined. Funny that still drive a daf and think its a great motor!

Looks like Grundons’ caught someone trying the old “charge us for a load of soil and I’ll buy you a drink…” trick.

I can’t get my phone to post the link, but according to Motortransport.com, Interoute from Thame have gone into administration, and closed down.

Here’s the link

Just read on Hayes Tipper Hires’ Facebook page that Mick McKenna passed away end of March RIP.
Talking of McKennas, does anyone know if they’re still running, as parent company McArdle were recently in administration? I saw a McKenna excavator working on the M25 near J6 this morning.

Proper lorry driver from tomorrow- off T’Bonnie Scotland!

You are better off than a tourist Nathan, you can see much more out of a lorry. Sounds as if you have a good job seeing the country and getting paid for it.
Cheers Dave.

Could do with a few less hours and a lot less manual labour though Dave. Driving side’s good; In the last couple of weeks I’ve seen London, Brighton, Bournemouth, Bristol, South Wales, Devon… I think I’ve got Oxfordshire on Thursday and Hereford-Birmingham on Friday.

Ah manual labour (the well known Spanish Politician!!) it wont do you any harm, just think, folk pay good money to visit the gym and you are getting paid for keeping yourself trim and fit!

I think, and Mike (The Long Drag) will correct me that Toft Brothers and Tomlinson at Darley Dale had a saying that ‘You see Britain at Our Expense’ as on the cab doors was a map of the British Isles!

Pete.

Nathan , so you be applying for a job soon with me then ?

Just on my second break at Heart Of Scotland Servs, looks a nightout in Livingstone then…
…I have to say I really enjoyed my full English at J38 (Tebay) this morning.

I’ve certainly got about a bit since swapping sand for flour. It would be nicer if warehouse didn’t double stack on a 1t pallet that needs to be pumptrucked though.

A second nightout! Had 1 min of duty time left somy address for this evening is Matthews warehouse near Hook Norton (at least I can get the lorry loaded for locals ready for tomorrow).

they load them with a powered truck, they dont care that you’ve gotta maul your balls off at the other end… annoyence !! :imp:

Not only a ballache with handballing a double stack (I hate carrying off the side, I use the taillift as a table) it’s the fact that bags get split and makes a mess of the truck, the other flour bags…and the driver.
