Nice pictures thanks Dan , Geoff

Hi all
I’m quite new to trucknet. I was told by a driver from Alford traffic servs that they had bought out Marshall Barry and that’s why they had changed their colours. I read that Peter carter was a fitter at T H Browns before running his own blue trucks. These were sold and he started up again with the red colours. Peter used to have his name on some brisca f1 stockcars and he used to supply engines. Is he still running wagons now?

Hi,no,Pete Carter runs the King Billy at Scawby Brigg

Anyone heard of Gordon Tune ■■? I think they were fruit n veg merchants from North Lincs , I remember a f86 arriving around 78 where my dad worked complete with 40 flat bought from the auctions for £5500 , it was to replace a Mandator that had finally bit the dust. Gordon Tune was what was displayed on the headboard and I think it was painted in darkish blue (their colours) and the reg was FFU 841L .An ex Transflash F86 arrived shortly afterwards but had done more miles than the space shuttle and was short lived

NEJ:
Although not actually hauliers as such but grain merchants: Padley’s and Wareings of Sleaford.

The name escapes me but the hauliers from Gainsborough with Blue & White Roadtrains and Scanias who I am sure are still in operation!

CSL from Scunthorpe who used to carry steel out of Scunthorpe steel works.

That would be F L Padley from Mareham Lane Sleaford owned by Les Padley, they became Westcliffe Transport. I think Les Padley used to be Transport Manager for Warings at one time.

The blue and white wagons would be Bradshaws from Sturton I think.

I think you are referring to CLS from Scunthorpe,Consolidated Land Services.

Hello All,Does anyone remember Peter Nuttalls from N.Killingholme, mainly Volvo fleet in the 70,s,
I grew up in South Killingholme and this thread has brought back some memories of my childhood,
Also there was an owner driver based in South Killingholme called Mervyn Dinsdale,as a lad and mate of his sons saw him progress over the years from F86 rigid tipper to F88 artic and finally i think he had an F10,all in white and blue colours.
My dad used to drive cement mixers for Deniffs which became Steetley Deniffs off the Manby Road in Immingham, then left to work at Laportes on the Stallingborough Rd where he stayed until retirement, his job at Laportes must have involved contact with incoming lorries and drivers as i can always remember when we were travelling back to Sheffield to visit family my dad would flash and wave at the yellow Stavely Chemical lorries heading east,
I started my involvment in transport as a young lad riding my pushbike upto Ulceby on a Saturday morning to John Erswells yard which was on the left as you went out of the village after the Brocklesby Ox pub, here i used to wash lorries and cut his lawns for some pocket money.
