Keith, those wagons are beauties, but the places where they are parked, look like a bit of a dump
Hi boys
Harry, I think she only had a V8 with small HP 420 rings a bell will ask my brother when I see him next. He brought it from Belgium a few years back compleat with tipping body. As john said it was removable and underneath was a Fifth wheel table. It had drag couplings so you would have liked it,double drive as well just a bit long as a unit. He had a short stepframe lowloader that he used to pull with it which brought the turning cercle back to a managable size.I know he had problems getting type aprovel to use it in this country as two different types of vehicle but eventurly got a 150ton plate on it.
Regards Keith
Hi boys
Norm your right as usual. are you volunteering to tidy it up. I’m shore he would take you to the Midway for your breki.I think you lads would be in your eliment there, everything from steam to modern day stuff.
Regards Keith.
Hi Keith,
The Cafe at Prees Heath that is now an Indian, was called the Breckland, have been in there on a sunday night a few years back, when the Raven and Midway were closed.
Cheers Dave.
Hi boys
Dave thats it, btw theres a golden oppertunaty for you now that the Little chef has closed down you could open it as a transport dept for vans as it seems the council do not want fullsize trucks there anymore
Regards Keith.
Hi Keith,
Remember when the Little Chef was up the road where those old cars are in that garage, that was a happy eater where the recent one was,got plenty of space for the vans here, sell you one of them if you like, don’t really need two.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
That’ll do for me Keith just about right for dragging retired mainline loco’s,just leave the tipper on, pop up to Dave get a load of cheap ballast on and then you can make any configuration you want, get old Norm over from the lighthouse he could bus it with his pass and i’ll show him the ropes, that’s if i could remember how to go on myself but no doubt you and Bro would be knocking about to keep me on the right lines and i won’t forget the knotted rope just in case Norm starts nodding off.
thanks harry long retired.
Hi boys
Dave yes the origanal Little chef was brought by a chap that run a computer shop in Whitchurch and moved the business there but it diden’t work out, the business and his marrage went bang.now it’s a house. If you remember that do you remember the outdoor swimming pool between there and the Cherry Tree pub. I think it was filled in a few years back.Me and the missis went to look around that pub for our reception when we were getting married but went to the Redbrook Hunting Lodge just up the Wrexham road instead.Soon after the Cherry Tree closed obviously they needed our trade, that is 19 years ago.
Harry, no need to bring any lines with you to make loading ranps with theres some there already from days gone by when we used to move to odd loco, but always short of timber for packing with, somone has been burning ours, been cold up here you know…
Regards Keith.

What a clever thing although mighty heavy for the UK. It would make an ideal ■■■■■ truck, used to tarmac drives, nick plant, syphoning diesel and big enough for a whole family to live in it with no council tax or water rates
Hi boys
Wheel Nut, you forgot about the drag coupling… ideal for towing the van.
Regards Keith
hiya,
When on the road Keith had a multi- fuel burner brilliant for the central heating and loads of hot water “this was in the house not the wagon”
and also a circular saw in the shed, and you’ve guessed i used to burn as many sawn up 3"x3"s as i could get hold of no parked trailers were safe the steelworks kept me in fuel until my old lady wanted to go gas, and i wish i still had it with the price of gas and leccy nowadays.
thanks harry long retired.
Keith, I would do the clean up willingly, but at the moment I am out of Puff.
Another cafe came to mind, George’s cafe on the A5 near junction 18 on the M1, I think it is now the Bp truck stop.

hi
the cafe on the a5 near junction 18 was the rendevue,i spent many a happy hour in the back room there watching ■■■■■ movies,
Dafdave, you are right, now you mention it, Tubby’s, how I remember it, was , my firm said to have checked up on the price of the ticket, because some nerd had said we got it cheaper, when our manager phoned Tubby up, he gave him a mouthful, saying it has the amount on the ticket, what I charge the driver, is my business, and his business, you do not question the Blue Boar when they give meal vouchers with the parking ticket, do you want me to ban your lorries from parking here, the meek reply was no!
I parked up on the Oakamoor cafe park on the A38 one sunday afternoon, legal, booked off at Barton - under - Needwood out of hours. The cafe was closed and my Mandator and tank was the only one on the park.I got a lift with one of Harris and Miners to Sheffield.Next morning I went to pay my parking and the old girl that ran the place went scatty accusing me of not paying on sunday. She had seen the wagon as she walked her dog just up the road. The place was closed I told her,no letter box,and if she felt like that why not get a letterbox in the door. She calmed down after that but it wasn’t more than a month later that one of our silly sods parked on there one sunday, booked off at Tewkesbury and next day didn’t pay his parking. She rang our firm up and they waited for the driver to hand his log sheets in,checked where he had booked off, hauled him in and sacked him. That also happened to another driver I knew who parked at Atkins on the A38 at Findern, booked off at Gloucester - going down
-from Sheffield.Atkins rang his firm up and the same thing happened.
All for the sake of a couple of bob.

I’m not surprised you had to leave the country Chris.
That just shows you, it pays not to make waves, for sometimes it can drown you if you do, always cover yourself, I always tried to park at places that would make the office staff to pull me up, like over in gloucester a villiage called Northampton, over in cambridgeshire a villiage called Moulton, they cottened on I was doing it to wind them up.
how many of you lads remember the entertainment at whats now stobarts off j18.
