Burmah - A few years later

Hi Sniffy, the ones you put on were painted in the new livery, they named it the mystical burmese lion and i think they had two lions outside the HQ in Swindon. Just after this new livery was introduced(and it must have cost a fortune to re liver all motors and sites) they sold out to the SAVE group who went bust shortly after.

I think these were just before and after the repaints into Linfox colours, although I’m still not sure of the sequence of events

Good photos sniffy, I had a volvo painted in LINFOX livery like the one in your last photo. It had a Burmah livered tank which looked strange, We had the new livery for a while before linfox took over the contract from p&o.

I went for a job at Linfox down at the Leeds terminal - one of the questions I was asked was did I have experience of “tarping”■■?
As it happens I did but I didn’t get the job anyway.

Yes Sniffy tarping is what they called roping and sheeting - I think they are of American or some foreign origins
