Hi Sniffy, the ones you put on were painted in the new livery, they named it the mystical burmese lion and i think they had two lions outside the HQ in Swindon. Just after this new livery was introduced(and it must have cost a fortune to re liver all motors and sites) they sold out to the SAVE group who went bust shortly after.
I think these were just before and after the repaints into Linfox colours, although I’m still not sure of the sequence of events
Good photos sniffy, I had a volvo painted in LINFOX livery like the one in your last photo.It had a Burmah livered tank which looked strange, We had the new livery for a while before linfox took over the contract from p&o.

Yes Sniffy tarping is what they called roping and sheeting - I think they are of American or some foreign origins

The British Fuel Co picture shows the trucks in AMOCO livery as the were supplied by AMOCO at all their depots

I since learned that Linfox are an Australian company
