A Bedford artic with a single axle road tank ,
Heres an interesting close up of the nearside view of a Scammell Highwayman Mk2 with the front of the barrel of the tank , its a bitumen tank as the discharge pipes have the large coupling that is bolted to the inlet of the receving tank. note the fire guard at the bottom of cab , and if you look closely you can see the compressor to pressureize the tank under the bottom of door and the outlet connection protruding at back of cab.
A Scammell Trunker Mk3 with a heavy fuel oil tank trailer , i am pretty sure the trailer was a Gloster Saro design ? , can anyone back me up on that ?.
Another Scammell Trunker with a fuel oil tank trailer , i think the tank trailer was made from fibreglass ? is this true . tankerjack.
can anyone tell me what " the extension bmp is not allowed means ? , pops up on certain pics i am sending?. tankerjack.

They look like Saro trailers, I remember most of the texaco saro trailers had Dunlop air-ride systems, a good suspensions system that usually lasted the life of the tank
A few more Scammells and BP/Shell photos

I’d hazard a guess there is either something missing from the link [even something as simple as a missing letter or hyphen] or that the wrong link from somewhere like Photobucket was used.
A few more 8 legger photos, the first one for Mr Webb
Not sure if its the same Butler fuels that’s around today
Here is a photo of a Seddon Atkinson 400 with a Thompson spirit tank , these tractor units replaced the Scammell trunkers , i am pretty sure that this photo was taken at the Buncfield depot.
A few of shots of a Shell artic

Hi Chris here is one of your ex mobs motors , did you ever drive this road tanker ?. Paul.
No Paul, but thanks for the photo. We had one Buffalo at Sheffield just before I left Evans,WML 87T with the L12. Fleet 257 is a Barking based motor, pity about the state of the tankside where those bloody labels had been.
I think that photo was taken at LCOW Canvey Island.
