Oil and Fuel companies

Sniffy:
A few more 8 legger photos, the first one for Mr Webb

Not sure if its the same Butler fuels that’s around today

Great photos. They were a grand machine those MK5s Sniffy and I think Butlers are still going. :sunglasses:

A couple more Sed-Atkis

With recent documentaries on the Falklands I thought this photo of the Victor re-fuelling at the 1955 Farnborough air show might be of intrest

Sniffy:
A few of shots of a Shell artic

Hi Sniffy the Seddon Atkinson pics are very good , did you take the photos yourself ? , do you have photos of BP oil road tankers in the white livery , like the 8 legger Seddon Atki ?. my Dad he drove in the period when they were white the BP shield at the front of the tank and big red lettering at the rear , i thought the black tanks looked great , the big red letters had a white outline. Just one more question you dont happen to be going to the Gayden Vintage lorry show in June ? , i will be attending with my fuel depot. Paul.

Here is a Scammell Trunker with a Gloster Saro Black oil tanker trailer in the livery of Shell Oil UK , maximum weight of 32 ton.

Here is a 8 wheel AEC black oil road tanker , i travelled with my father on many occasion in a similar type of road tanker , from the oil depot at Heysham , Lancs.

Here’s one or two for you.The driver in the 1st pic must have struggled getting into that cab.transportphotos.com/road/photos

Tankerjack, no they are not photos I’ve taken myself, most are from original Thompsons sales albums that were recovered from a skip when they closed Bilston down, I’ve scanned several sets of albums and negatives from different manufacturers, same story all recovered by retiring staff as they closed down
I’ll have a look for any other white liveried photos

A few more BP oils in relatively plain livery

A couple of Esso tankers

Looks like the Foden might be pulling another Dunlop air ride suspended tank - early 80’s build i would have thought

Continuing the aviation theme…

A couple more relatively old ones

A few of the wagons running out of ESSO west London

Another one of the Foden and a few more random Esso photo’s

Don’t know what’s happened to all the tankers lads ?

A few Shell lubricant snaps, the first of a grease bulker, it ran out of Shell Trafford park for many years, I spent many happy hours re-fitting the piston seals ankle deep in some of the finest greases money could buy at the time

Here is an exact replica of the AEC petrol road tanker that has been restored , not been on lately had probs with my folder pages. tankerjack.

Another classic from a similar vintage

Sniffy thats a great photo of the Albion Caladonion 8 wheeler , i have never seen a colour photo of a National Benzole fuel tanker , its a wonderful livery very striking. i have a few old photos of National i shall dig em out. tankerjack.

Here is a photo of the Shell mex and BP Plymouth Terminal i am pretty sure it was located at near the dock side where they offloaded the petroleum sea vessels , they had the main oil terminal close by. tankerjack

AEC spirit road tanker , in the lorry driver of the year comp , a lovely photo.
