Anyone got a picture of S S Bayliss from Wrexham? He used to run an ancient MAN about 12 years ago, think he was based near the back of the (Wrexham) industrial estate.

S S Bayliss had 2 MANs think it was 1978 when he bought them, as i remember going to his sons birthday party and climbing all over them when they got back to the yard  as at the time my old man had an A Series ERF for BRS, so a couple of sleeper cab MANs made for some very happy 9yr old truck nuts
I was talking to the son Adrian just before i moved out to Canada, his dad still has one of them parked in the barn at the yard, sure he said one was secondhand by a few months when his dad bought them, but its the one he had brand new which he still has, its almost 3yrs ago since i left but they had 2 Renault Magnums in red at the time, sorry no pics only fond memories of the 2 trucks from nearly 34 yrs ago :open_mouth: didn`t think i was that old

Hi SteelboyF10
was Hutchy’s Atki Red with a sleep box ? I remember one being parked up on land by the Pied Bull (now got flats built on it ) with a roped and sheeted load of tinned SAMON from John west on the trailer .
Do you remeber Kendriks from by the trap ,think they had two four wheeler flats carrying out of Hepworths pipe works in Leeswood.
What about Joe Wilson from Megs Lane ? Pete still runs out of the yard today .He has just had his brother Colins 8 legger Foden (black cab).

Hi, yes remember them all, The atki, Iam not sure, Hutch lived ner the Tiv,so would not have been close to his house,I heard he passed away suddenly?, a couple of years ago.

Re Joe Wilson, I used to be in school with a lad (Tony?) who used to ride in those trucks, when I was at school and went to Shones yard after school to help out…H&S would not allow it now!

I know Hutch’s brother had trucks also, who was the chap who had a Scania 110 from near the school?, I remember the garage (Reynolds?) on the common used to repair trucks.

Barry Waddy , HI steelboy f10, name of the firm ran out of Flintshire Haulges old yard ,ran a load of 4 wheelers a dirty dark Green coular Ford D 700 & TK Bedford s ,used to run fire lighters out of Tigger Tims ,Rhosesmore, yours Barry
